Choosing bridal party attire can be daunting, especially if, like me, it also means deciding the color palate for your wedding. Luckily, I was able to take that crucial leap in the planning process and stylishly accessorize the men in our wedding with one delightful experience with High Cotton Ties.
Let’s face it, men get the short end of the stick when it comes to their wedding fashion—family and friends do not dedicate countless Saturdays to share their wisdom and vision, judge options based upon cut, color, style, etc., or ooh and ahh at their nuptial splendor. However, I wanted my groom to enjoy a similar experience to my own. I want him to feel just as special and stylish as me on our most memorable (and most photographed) day. I also must ensure that his groomsmen look (almost) just as sharp.
A tie is a man’s most prominent accessory—typically the most colorful part of his outfit as well as the most pattern he will ever wear. I knew we were in good hands as soon as I visited High Cotton’s website and Pinterest page. I especially enjoyed seeing the beautiful ties “in action” at numerous weddings. With a wide variety of prints, patterns, and fabrics in every color of a rainbow, the most challenging aspect was narrowing down to five to try out. But, in due time, we made our selection. Just a few days later, we were pleased to find a picture-prefect display box of five adorable options on our doorstep.
Let me say—Home Try-On—what a fantastic idea! From personal experience as a serial returner, I know that, alas, sometimes clothes just seem lackluster once you get them home. I was thrilled for us to have the ability to see, touch, and wear the ties before pulling the trigger. It helps in designing and/or matching your color palate and gives your groom the opportunity to either complete his wedding look or create his nuptial style around the tie.
After a few days of modeling, we were able to confidently send back the samples knowing that we had found our perfect tie. We chose a classic cotton necktie in a timeless oxford and Carolina blue stripe (which happens to be the groom’s favorite color and also matches his eyes). The style is charmingly classic, comfortable, coastal, and quintessentially Southern, which aligns perfectly with our venue: a picturesque lowcountry outdoor setting in quaint Pawleys Island, SC.
Not only did this experience serve as an easy way to involve my groom, but it also renders me utterly ecstatic to show off our wedding style in just a few short weeks. Our tie-picking process worked out perfectly—thanks to High Cotton—who’s process I found easy-to-use and uber-convenient. Hint: they also have wedding specialists ready and willing to assist in anyway possible.
I love buying local whenever possible and this is a definitely a brand worth backing. ~ Southern Bride, Camille. Soon to be Mrs. Leonard!
