Andrea Roda & Harry Adderholt
August 23, 2020
Little Rock, Arkansas
THE PROPOSAL
High school sweethearts Andrea Roda and Harry Adderholt had been together since 2008 when Harry proposed in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2020. Harry took Andrea out for dessert at Normal Ice Cream, their favorite ice cream shop, while Andrea’s mom and sister were decorating their Airbnb with rose petals and floating candles. The ice cream must have been tasty, because the couple returned as the setup was in progress! Fortunately, Andrea was a good sport and helped light the candles to her own engagement because at the end of the day, she knew she was marrying the love of her life and had a story unlike any other.

THE BIG DAY
Andrea and Harry said I do in Little Rock, Arkansas, but their audience was watching along from as far as Thailand and the Philippines via livestream. With its large windows and spacious modern farmhouse interior, the Grandeur House provided a light and airy atmosphere for both the ceremony and reception.

Sunlight streamed through a wall of windows, illuminating the bride in her high neck trumpet dress with a delicate lace-lined illusion back. Two pillars of botanicals, complete with blush and cream florals and magnolia leaves, flanked the couple as they said their vows. Small displays of magnolia leaves were wrapped around glass vases and candles that sat on top of light woodworked console tables, adding warmth and ambient lighting to the ceremony space.

After the ceremony, Andrea changed into a satin, criss cross off the shoulder gown for her reception. Her classic look complemented Harry’s dapper suit. The pastel pink, cream, and forest green color palette seamlessly transitioned into the reception space, decorated with elegant signage made by the bride herself.

During cocktail hour, guests dined on passed hors d’oeuvres including spinach and artichoke crostinis, honey-chipotle barbecue chicken, and saucy Asian meatballs provided by Vibrant Occasions Catering. For dinner, guests enjoyed an interactive station display as they were served slow-simmered shredded beef tacos with cilantro-lime rice, Mexican street corn, peppers, onions, cheese dip, and salsa. The good eats didn’t stop there: guests could also indulge in the couple’s favorite foods, such as grilled chicken alfredo pasta, bowtie pasta with marinara sauce, and green bean provencal with blistered tomatoes.

The couple enjoyed a slice of their two-tier forest green-trimmed layer cake accented with greenery as guests stopped by the dessert table that featured “his favorite” and “her favorite” cookies. Family and friends lined the exterior of the venue to send Andrea and Harry off with a celebratory smoke bomb exit.
