Jackie Spangenberg & Sanders Dargan Marry In New Orleans, Louisiana

Jackie Spangenberg and Sanders Dargan married on May 27, 2023, in an intimate outdoor ceremony in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two met when they were students at Sewanee, a world-class liberal arts college. After dating for seven years, Sanders proposed to Jackie during Mardi Gras with a family ring that had been passed down from his paternal great-great grandmother. The wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome party at Port Orleans Brewing Co. where guests slurped oysters on the half shell, enjoyed roasted pig, and custom lager. The morning of, Jackie and her bridesmaids gathered at the Spangenberg family home while Sanders and his groomsmen went on a swamp tour through Jean Lafitte Bayou. The bride’s father accompanied her down the aisle. She donned an elegant Eva Lendel gown that was customized to fashion a strapless neckline. A floor length Tony Federici veil complimented the look perfectly. After the couple said “I do” at the Hermann-Grima House, everyone spilled onto the streets of the French Quarter in a lively second line. With handkerchiefs and drinks in hand, attendees paraded to Broussard’s Restaurant Restaurant & Courtyard for a fabulous reception consisting of French 75s, local cuisine, and dancing to Phat Hat. The incredible celebration ended with a nightcap at the famous Pat O’Brien’s. Mike Lirette, the couple’s talented wedding photographer, graciously captured the entire weekend.
