In late summer of 2021, Kelli Mencke and Nicholas Janysek wed on Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio, and we are still swooning over their gorgeous coastal wedding.
How did you two meet?
We met on a dating app! We met up for drinks one night, then followed by dinner and a play downtown for one “real” date that same week. Five days later the pandemic caused the world to shut down.
What was your cake flavor?
We had four tiers all different flavors! The flavors were: chocolate with cookies and cream filling, vanilla with raspberry filling, strawberry with lemon filling, and coconut and Bavarian cream filling.
What does a lazy Sunday morning look like for you two?
Breakfast tacos and playing with our dog Bailey.
Favorite part of married life so far?
Continuing to learn more about each other, constantly laughing, and being adventure partners!
What was your first dance song?
Our first dance song was Speechless by Dan and Shay. The more important dance for our wedding day was our private last dance of the evening to our song Better Together by Luke Combs.
Joined by their immediate family and closest friends, Kelli Marie Mencke and Nicholas Heep Janysek were married overlooking the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 9, 2021. The couple enjoyed perfect late summer weather for their outdoor wedding, with the ceremony taking place on the Veranda at the EY Building and the reception 19 floors above in The Penthouse.
A French Blue palette accented with navy and white details paired perfectly with the blue waters of the lake shimmering below. Every detail from the hydrangeas to chiffon were expertly curated by Kelli to bring their classic coastal wedding design to life. Kelli and Nicholas wed on Lake Erie on a Thursday, providing the opportunity to show off Cleveland to their guests with a full weekend affair in the city where their love story began.
