EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS

Staesha Gentry and Andrew Buhler married at Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Their elegant ceremony at “The Glass Chapel in the Forest” celebrated their love for the simple things and each other.

On the morning of her wedding, Staesha got ready with her mom and sister at the stately (and, according to legend, haunted!) Crescent Hotel. After doing a first look with her dad and bridesmaids, Staesha departed for Thorncrown Chapel. To complement both the ceremony and reception venue’s effortless elegance, Staesha and Andrew chose a minimalistic color scheme of baby blue, pink, and ivory. Greenery, peeking just beyond the windows of Thorncrown Chapel and nestled into each bouquet, tied the venue and decor together and created a dreamy ambiance.

As a nod to their first date to see A Star is Born, Staesha walked down the aisle to “Shallow” by Brooklyn Duo. Their closest family and friends traveling from New Mexico, Staesha and Andrew said “I do” in a short but sweet ceremony. Andrew’s father and Staesha’s grandmother attended in spirit, their photos placed in the front row of the chapel. The newlyweds and their guests made their way back to the Crescent Hotel for family photos and the reception. Guests had their pick of delicious food, from prime rib to chicken to vegetarian entrees, before watching Staesha and Andrew’s first dance to “Lifetime” by Justin Bieber. Their amazing DJ even letting a few of the groomsmen take the microphone and sing their hearts out, Staesha and Andrew danced, laughed, and partied the night away with their closest friends and family.

How did you two meet?

We met each other at Applebee’s when I was a hostess and he was a server. Our first date was on Valentine’s Day!

How did he propose?

Drew asked me to take a trip up the mountain to our favorite greenhouse near our hometown. We do this a lot, so it wasn’t unusual for him to ask. On the drive up, Drew was more quiet than he is normally. After we looked around for a bit, Drew led me to a large purple and green jade tree. Tucked into its base was the most gorgeous engagement ring. He proposed, and I happily said yes! We now own that jade tree from one of our most memorable days together.

How did you know Drew was the one?

He accepted me and loved me for exactly who I was. He never tried to change me. We balance each other out perfectly. My favorite thing about Drew is his generosity. It doesn’t matter what he’s going through—he would give the shirt off his back to help someone else. He’s very selfless and an incredible husband.

How did you choose your venues?

Before we were officially engaged, we knew we wanted to do a destination wedding. Drew’s family was having a reunion about an hour away from Eureka Springs, and we wanted to get married while his whole family was in one place. Thorncrown Chapel was the first venue we looked at in the area, and we knew it was the one. The Crescent Hotel was also a very easy pick for us. Its history and unique look fit our personalities so well.

Why Justin Bieber for your first dance?

It’s actually a funny story. As a teenager, Bieber Fever was taking over (and boy did I catch it!). When we were looking for a first dance song, I stumbled upon “Lifetime” and knew it was perfect. One of Drew’s groomsmen actually sang it at the reception, making it that much more meaningful.

Where was your honeymoon?

We have not officially gone on our honeymoon yet, but we are planning a Hawaii trip for our one year anniversary.
