The First Encounter

Jeff and Alexandra “matched” on a dating application, “Hinge”, in the fall of 2015 in Washington, D.C. Jeff, a Cornell graduate, was working in the city while Alexandra was spending a semester studying at American University. The two first laid eyes on each other after agreeing to a blind date and meeting for dinner. Instantly, the pair connected over an amazing Italian dinner at Acqua al 2 on Capitol Hill. Alexandra was drawn to Jeff’s goofy humor and confidence. Jeff loved how thoughtful and studious Alexandra was. They quickly became inseparable. Many more food and wine filled dates followed!

In Preparation

Alexandra spent every summer visiting the Greenbrier with her family as a child and always dreamed of one day celebrating her wedding at the resort. After finding Prince Charming, her wonderful Mom and Dad helped to make her dream come true. The bride and groom traveled to the Greenbrier with the bride’s parents several times during the engagement year to prepare for the big day. The fabulous team at the Greenbrier took care of the details with expert care. The bride also traveled to New York City on multiple occasions to find and perfect her wedding day look.

The Big Day

The day was a fairytale. After weeks of hurricane weather had plagued the country, September 16th arrived and was the most beautiful fall day for a wedding in West Virginia. The bride spent the morning with her female family members and bridesmaids getting ready while sipping mimosas. The groom and his men enjoyed outdoor shooting activities. The ceremony was breathtaking in the Greenbrier chapel and ended with a petal toss grand exit. A string quartet graced the cocktail hour. A live wedding painter entertained the guests as they danced the night away in the pink Cameo Ballroom of the hotel.

The Retreat

The bride and groom spent their first honeymoon night a cozy cottage at the Greenbrier and enjoyed a luxurious room service breakfast before departing for their Italian get away. The pair began in Tuscany, staying at a tranquil resort where they “wined and dined” like kings. They went truffle hunting and wine tasting. Next was Florence where they marveled at ancient art. The couple then traveled to Positano and spent a few days enjoying the Amalfi Coast. Their last night was in Rome, where they met friends and enjoyed one more gelato before heading home to start their new life together!
