The Proposal

David’s hometown had a ball one weekend and I was convinced that it would happen before or after because I had bought a nice formal gown for the event and he knew I wanted to be all dolled up for the proposal! As the night came to a close I asked him if he was SURE there was nothing he needed to ask me. He assured me there was not, so sadly I was off to bed. The next morning before church I told him I wanted to stay in bed, but he insisted we get up and get ready. Lunch was going to be late so we took a carriage ride after church to kill some time before lunch. After our ride, another wrinkle ensued and lunch still wasn’t ready. So, we went to take a peek at the new museum in town. As we walked up the steps there it was: crystal champagne flutes, a bottle of champagne perfectly nested in a silver champagne bucket and a dozen roses (with a hidden photographer around the corner). David got down on one knee and the rest is history!

In Preparation

I knew I could plan my big day all on my own, but being a full-time night shift registered nurse, I figured to reduce my stress I should hire a planner. Best decision ever! All my friends would complain about how stressed they were preparing for their big day but I genuinely never stressed about it! My planner took all the weight off my shoulders and knew exactly what she was doing and what I wanted every step of the way. I had the vendors of my dreams and knew my day would be amazing. My parents truly allowed me to create my dream wedding and I am so grateful for all they do for me. My planner and her team delivered the most beautiful end product I could imagine and I cannot boast enough about how amazing she was along with all my other vendors!

The Big Day

I woke up excited to begin a day with the best friends and family a girl could imagine, and a handsome groom that I would see later that afternoon. My dress was perfect, my hair and makeup stunning and the man I would walk to was the biggest blessing of all! I was stress-free until a couple of hours before the ceremony. It was a very, very hot June day, I had on a big dress and I was terrified I’d get overheated walking down the aisle and pass out. With the help of my amazing daddy and bridesmaids to calm me down, the ceremony began. I saw my groom for the first time at the end of the aisle and I knew that day would be my favorite one forever and ever.

The Retreat

Three short hours after we fell asleep on our wedding night we were at the Atlanta airport headed to Jamaica! We arrived in beautiful Montego Bay, but the bumpy almost two-hour drive to the resort was not so pleasant on a tiny narrow road. Luckily, that was the only downside to the entire trip! Our week getaway was filled with love, sun, sand and scuba diving! We had the best time and cannot wait to go back!”
