The First Encounter

We were in New York City with my parents and we planned to meet a friend in Brooklyn. We met him at the Towers building in Brooklyn, and he took us to the rooftop. Fun fact: Nick and I both love the French language and are wanting to learn it together one day. So while Nick and I were on the roof during sunset, he told me he learned a new French saying. “Veux-tu m’épouser” he said, which means “will you marry me?” So he got down on one knee and said “Alyse, will you marry me?”

In Preparation

The preparation began right away with my mom and I researching venues, which was difficult because at that moment I lived in New Jersey and the wedding was in Florida. But with a lot of work and help from my Dad who visited the venues, we finally found the perfect place. Since I am a huge fan of Pinterest, I knew a lot of wedding details I wanted. Slowly but surely we decided on each detail of the wedding and it started to come together!

The Big Day

The day started with a fun and long getting ready session with all my bridesmaids, maid of honor, mom, aunt and friends. Even though it was long, the morning flew by and before I knew it, it was ready to head to the ceremony. I was anxious and very excited for the ceremony. It went beautifully and I loved seeing my handsome groom at the end of the aisle. My cousin gave our wedding talk and it was the best talk I’ve heard! The ceremony went by quick and then we went to Florida Southern College where we took pictures and video with the most amazing people! The reception was so beautiful and was really where you get to see all your hard work and decision making come together! It was so much fun being with everyone and getting to dance and enjoy the night.

The Retreat

We went to Cancun, Mexico and we had such a blast! The resort we stayed at was amazing and the ocean was beautiful and relaxing to be near. We got to visit Chichen Itza and we did jet skiing and snorkeling too! It was a very fun and relaxing and we really had a blast!
