The Proposal

Jeremiah took Bethany out for a nice Valentines Day dinner and walked her back to her apartment. He suggested going up to the rooftop to enjoy the nice night. He popped the question on the roof with the just stars as witnesses.

In Preparation

We toured Summerfield Farms and knew immediately it was the intimate but stunning location we hoped for. My mom and I immediately started hitting antique stores and sourcing all sorts of vintage/antique sewing items. Ranging from antique cast irons, wooden spools of thread, old cloth tape measures, lace runners/tablecloths to use as decoration but also set the ambience of the day. I found a rental company that rounded out the vintage furniture pieces, rugs, miss matched china etc for the day. Jenny’s Projects matched my aesthetic perfectly and our ideas really vibed to make realistic creations. I knew one of the photographers from The Family Films and had always wanted them to photograph the wedding. I started designing and making my dress during the summer months. As we were booking vendor’s, each one complimented the other which squashed any fears we had while booking from afar.

The Big Day

The day started out beautifully, we were blessed with a warm sunny autumn day. The leaves had started turning a week prior, which provide us with the intended fall day we envisioned when booking the venue. The underlining thread through out the entire day was the attention to detail dedicated to every element. Between the curated antique piece’s selected by my mother and myself for the ceremony and reception, the jaw dropping flowers by the florist tying together my cinematic, romantic yet modern vision, using the simple but effective elements of the barn and it’s structure to house the reception, the outstanding lead singer and live band, the subtle but classic details through out the evening was a perfect meddling of both our aesthetics and lifestyles. The hand made favors tied off the evening lit by the sparkler’s and Roll’s Royce exit, it was the epitome of a perfect day.

The Retreat

We booked an all inclusive package at Anse Chastanet in St. Lucia. It was the perfect time to go, right before peak tourist season. The private beach, attentive staff, multitude of culture excursions, wonderful food and gorgeous views gave us the perfect week to just relax and enjoy paradise.
