The Proposal

Adam and I planned a week at Folly Beach, SC with his sister and her boyfriend. Adam and I went to dinner one night and when we got back to the beach house Adam suggested we take a walk on the dock. He opened the gate and the back yard was filled with romantic candles and decorations leading out to the dock. We walked to the end of the dock and he got down on one knee and proposed. After the proposal, I turned around and both of our families were cheering and clapping.

In Preparation

We knew we wanted a small, intimate wedding with close family and friends. We wanted a laid-back atmosphere with lots of good food, drinks, and dancing. Luckily for me my mother and Aunt are both interior designers that dabble with party planning. They made the process so easy and everything just fell into place once we found the venue at The Dairy Barn. The planning process definitely got a little more interesting when we found out we were expecting our first child! It made the day all more special that our son could walk down the aisle and celebrate with us on the big day.

The Big Day

Everyone always told me to take it all in because the day goes by so fast and they were definitely right. Our Wedding Day went by so quickly, but I have the best memories of that day! Our photographer, Jennifer, was such a blessing because she somehow managed our, at times rowdy, wedding party and captured the beautiful moments of our family all while making me feel so at ease. My favorite moment was when our son was wheeled down the aisle in an antique wagon that read “Here Comes Mommy.” I also will never forget when our best friend ripped his pants on the dance floor when the guys started a kick line to “It’s Raining Men.”

The Retreat

Because we had our sweet baby boy so close to the wedding we didn’t have a honeymoon planned. We came back home after the wedding and then a few weeks later we had a long weekend in Charleston, SC for a basketball tournament with my favorite team (Clemson) and my husband’s favorite team (Dayton). Of course my Tigers won the tournament! We recently planned a trip to Orlando to visit Harry Potter World for our One Year Anniversary.
