The First Encounter
We were planning a vacation to visit our friends in Beaufort South Carolina, and Cam asked me if I would want to get married while we were there. I said “Of course!” Elope? Stress free? YES.
I actually had a lot of fun making the arrangements for our big day. Even though we were eloping, I knew I wanted a romantic ceremony (Thank you Kristen Barner), fresh flowers, and an amazing photographer (Taylor). Keeping it a secret was probably the hardest part.
The Big Day
To get married at Magnolia Plantation, under live oaks, was nothing short of a dream come true. Having fallen in love with the city’s undeniable charm over the last few years, my husband and I chose to elope to Charleston for an intimate ceremony. The decision to elope made for stress free planning and allowed us to focus on enjoying our special day. One of our favorite moments was during our vows, we both had tears resting in our eyes but were so happy we couldn’t cry. It was the single most romantic moment of my life. Looking back, we cherish every perfect detail of our wedding day. If we could, we would get married everyday.
Our honeymoon consisted of spending an entire week exploring the south. We spent time in Charleston, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island. Then we even explored further to Savannah, Georgia and Tybee Island. We had a blast and never wanted our trip to end. It was the most perfect week full of romance and adventures that I will cherish forever.
