The First Encounter

Adam and I had already been ring shopping so I didn’t really prepare myself to have a surprise proposal since I knew it was coming. Adam made a few comments in passing that he would propose at a special place to us or at a destination out of town.  So on a random Saturday night in September, Adam suggested we go to Del Porto which is a very nice Italian restaurant in our town. I didn’t think anything of it and as soon as the bread and drinks came out I was hit with a wave of nausea. I watched Adam eat his meal while I impatiently waited to go home and put on my pj’s! We make it home and I rush inside to find an arrangement of gorgeous flowers, chilled champagne and a cake stand full of gourmet donuts from my favorite place. After 10 seconds of utter confusion, I turn around with my mouth open wide to see Adam holding the ring box! Needless to say, he got me and I had the sweetest surprise proposal!

In Preparation

We decided to get married at the church Adam grew up in with a reception down the street on the lakefront in the town where we would be starting our new lives together. I am a big planner and love organizing so the wedding planning process went pretty smoothly for me. I never realized how much work went into the preparation for ONE night of fun with all your closest family and friends but I must say it was all worth it in the end.

The Big Day

As an easily overwhelmed and anxious person, my bridesmaids and myself included were unsure of how I would be on the wedding day. Much to our surprise, I was very calm and easygoing! Everything went as planned and to see all of the hard work and year of planning come to life was really amazing. Adam and I chose not to do a first look and it was the best decision we could have made! Nothing beats that moment walking down the aisle and locking eyes for the first time. We are so thankful to all of our family, friends and vendors for making our dream wedding day come true.

The Retreat

When booking the Honeymoon, all we wanted was an all inclusive, desktop background, beach resort. We decided on Sandals Ochi in Jamaica with help from our wonderful travel agent. It was an amazing 7 days of relaxation, all you can eat carbs and naps whenever we wanted. We often daydream and reminisce about our Honeymoon, we loved every minute of it!
