The Proposal

Michael proposed at a local restaurant, The Edison, on August 30th, 2016! Michael arranged for my parents and sister to take me out to dinner at The Edison. As we finished dinner, Michael walked up from behind me and I saw the photographers jump out. In that moment, I knew what was about to happen and of course, I started crying! Michael approached me with the most beautiful box of Venus et Fleur flowers, a handwritten note, and the ring. He got down on one knee and proposed to me! It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined!

In Preparation

Thankfully, Michael and I did not have to do much preparation because we had a phenomenal wedding planner, Amy Forman from Papaya Wedding Planning. We created our budget and then she planned every single thing. Amy also created the entire timeline with a little help from us every now and then, which created the perfect flow on the day of the wedding. I would strongly suggest that every bride and groom hire a wedding planner, even If it’s just for the day of wedding. Having a planner made it more enjoyable for us and less stressful. We got to really have fun with planning and preparing for our wedding because we our planner helped us through every little detail.

The Big Day

Michael and I got married at Gin Creek Wine Vineyards. We had our ceremony in the middle of the vineyards, and our reception atop a hill overlooking all of the vineyards. It was a cool 75 degrees, the wind was blowing, and the trees had turned to a beautiful deep red and orange. The most special part of the day was our first look. During our first look, we read personally written vows to each other with only our photographer and videographer present. It was such an intimate and personal moment, and allowed to have a moment to ourselves. My father and I rode into the ceremony on a horse and carriage, and later, Michael and I were taken out of the reception to our after party in a vintage Rolls Royce. Every detail was absolutely breathtaking. It was truly the most magical (and SO much fun) day ever!

The Retreat

Michael and I knew from the beginning of planning that we wanted a honeymoon that required nothing from us. So, we chose to go on a 7 day cruise around the Caribbean! We went to St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitt, the Dominic Republic, and Antigua. We did everything from horse riding on the beach to riding through the rainforest on 4-wheelers. It was a stress and worry-free honeymoon, which is exactly what we wanted. We relaxed and had a blast!
