The Proposal

Anthony planned the best proposal that a woman could ask for. He surprised me with a family gathering at the beach. We spent the day just relaxing with both of our families. After a day at the beach, I was told that a photographer was going to be at the beach to take family photos. Little did I know that the photographer was going to be there to capture our big moment. My husband explained to me that it was our turn to get our couple photos taken, everyone was quietly watching, the photographer, Lisa Silva, was having us act silly, then serious but that is when my husband got down on one knee and proposed.  Of course, everyone started screaming and cheering.  We were at my favorite place, with family gathered around, with the love of my life, I said “YES!”

In Preparation

From the day we were engaged, we began planning! This was the biggest day of our lives so we wanted to make sure that it was beyond perfect! We met with Francesca Cooper from The Eventful Gals and quickly knew that she could turn our dream and vision into a reality. We toured venues, met with vendors and looked at every option.  We ultimately fell in love with a rustic wedding venue at Chandler Oaks Barn. It was stunning and is truly one of a kind venue. Later the shopping began, and I said “yes” to the dress! We entered a contest to have a country artist sing at our wedding and believe it or not – WE WON, which added more excitement for everyone.  After all the big decisions, we left the final pieces to The Eventful Gals. The real countdown to our big day began.

The Big Day

Words cannot express how excited my husband and I were for our big day. The day of wedding fun started bright and early!  The bridal party came to the venue early for hair, makeup, and champagne. We anxiously stepped into our dresses and waited for the time to walk down the aisle.  I was able to share a special moment with my step dad (Pops) and have a first look.  As I was walking toward my future husband, all the emotions came out for both of us and a lot of happy tears were shed.  We exchanged vows and saying “I do” the party began. After photos, we opened the huge barn doors and began our first dance, sung by Country Artist, Blane Howard. He added the perfect touch on our day by singing his single “Promise to Love Her”. We danced, ate, and partied the night away. It was spectacular!

The Retreat

After the wedding, we set off to the North Carolina Mountains. We headed to an exclusive resort in Maggie Valley. We stayed at Catalochee Ranch, we were in their honeymoon cabin located right on pond overlooking a field of wild horses. With home cooked meals, horseback riding, zip lining, and late nights by the fire, it was the perfect down time after all the planning and excitement of the wedding.
