The Proposal

We met in May of 2012, and from that moment on, we were inseparable. After dating for four years, we fulfilled a dream of ours to take a trip around the world. All of our friends and family were convinced that Matt would pop the questions on the trip, but he didn’t end up asking me to marry him until a month after we returned from our trip. It was the perfect proposal. It was just us at home with our dogs.

In Preparation

After we got engaged and picked a date, we reached out to Kerri with Toast Events to help us with the planning process. She made our eight month engagement a fun and easy process. Atlanta is full of many beautiful venues, but I knew the St. Regis Hotel was where I wanted to say “I do” and celebrate our special night with our friends and family. I chose a soft color palette composed mainly of blush, cream, gold and accents of dove gray, creating a soft yet refined aesthetic for the day. The day of the wedding, I spent the morning with my girls getting ready while Matt hung out with his guys.

The Big Day

The actual wedding day was so much fun! The ceremony began at 5:30 p.m. followed by a cocktail hour where the musical trio Lilac Wine serenaded our guests. Even our four-legged babies, Kloey & Barkley, briefly mingled with the guests. Our custom “W” monogram created by Hi Note Stationery was incorporated throughout our wedding, and the special details made the wedding feel personal and meaningful. Our floral designers, Edge Design Group, recreated our signature monogram in a beautiful floral installation that served as a backdrop behind the band. The escort display featured envelopes in which Matt and I wrote handwritten letters to our guests, and when guests removed their envelopes from the display board, it revealed the large “W” monogram once again. In lieu of a traditional guest book, we asked guests to write a postcard to us. Over the next year, our planner, Kerri, will periodically mail us these postcards. It is truly a gift that keeps on giving as we will continue to feel the love and support of our guests all year long. After being introduced as Mr & Mrs. Waring, we danced the night away with the people we love most. We certainly didn’t want the night to end.

The Retreat

Several days after the wedding, we left for a fun honeymoon trip to Buenos Aires, Patagonia and Santiago. We ate delicious food, explored Patagonia and visited the wine region outside of Santiago. It was a beautiful trip and the perfect beginning to our new adventure together.
