The Proposal

I met Jacob when I was fifteen years old. From the moment I saw him, I knew that one day he would be my husband. We dated for 7 years, because he wanted me to finish college and he wanted our home (that we had been remodeling) to be complete before we were married. December 23, 2016 my sister and I had spent a day doing some super last minute Christmas shopping. When we got home, I was super tired, but she kept pushing me to go see Jacob, so I went anyway. Little did I know, he was going to propose. He drove us to our home and when we got there he knelt down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. This was a special place to the both of us, because we had worked so hard on our home together to make it what we wanted it to be.

In Preparation

We both love the outdoors, so we knew we wanted an outdoor wedding. When planning, I knew I wanted a Christmas wedding, but without all the “bling”. The house that we chose to have our wedding at is surrounded by beautiful cotton fields and was a perfect backdrop for our country Christmas wedding. I designed the invitations and programs to fit my theme. I gave my florist an idea of what I envisioned and trusted him to make it happen. It was everything I wanted and more! We had four rooms of the house filled with country cuisine. Outside, there was an old wagon converted into a hot chocolate and apple cider bar. Thanks to my family and friends our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be.

The Big Day

December 2, 2017 was possibly the best day of our lives. Our wedding was held at a good friends historic home. It had been recently remodeled and is truly stunning. My morning was full of laughter and fun as my bridesmaids and I got ready. Jacob spent his morning doing what he loves, hunting with friends. Our florist did a beautiful job decorating every room in the home with subtle Christmas décor. My parents surprised me with an antique vintage car to arrive in for the ceremony. The one thing I will remember most is when I stepped out of that car, Jacob was standing at the end of the aisle grinning ear to ear. We waited so long for our wedding day. With the help of family and friends, it was more than we could have ever imagined.

The Retreat

Jacob and I honeymooned in the Great Smokey Mountains. We stayed in the cutest little cabin secluded back in the woods. The fireplace and the Christmas tree made it extra cozy. We spent the week hiking, touring the mountains, and relaxing by the fire. The weather was perfect and we even got to see some snow the last few days we were there.
