The Proposal
We were going to Vail, Colorado with my family, and Preston knew it would be the perfect place to propose. Preston invited friends, one being a wedding photographer, to take pictures and share our moment. Preston knew I wanted to have pictures to
remember our proposal, so he told me my mom planned family pictures. He got me all dressed up and took me on a walk by the prettiest, snowy creek. He then told me he loved me, got down on one knee, and asked me to spend forever with him, and I of
course said, “YES!”
In Preparation
I grew up going to the beach all along 30A, specifically in Seaside, Florida. Every time I would ride my bike past the chapel, I would imagine what it would be like to walk down that aisle towards the man of my dreams. I was beside myself when Preston agreed. My favorite color is white so I knew Alys Beach for the reception was the perfect combination with the Chapel at Seaside. I had dreams of whites and blush, lots of flowers, twinkle lights, topped off with airy decorations all under a clear top tent. I could not have asked for a more perfect team as they made my vision come to such a beautiful reality. We truly had a blast working with all of our vendors prepping for our big day, and could not have felt more loved or special being showered by so many friends and family!
The Big Day
I spent the morning in a beautiful Alys Beach house sharing many laughs and prayers with my bridesmaids and family. It was an emotional morning as I prepared to marry the love of my life. Before seeing Preston, I shared a first look in my dress with my first love, my Dad. I then walked towards Preston and tapped on his shoulder. As he turned around he said, “you’re beautiful” and we shared the sweetest moment together before becoming husband and wife. Our ceremony was so special as my Papaw married us in front of a full chapel of family and friends. We headed to our reception and shared a sweet first dance to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” before dancing the night away with those who came to celebrate us. Sparklers ended the night as we jumped into the cutest little car to begin our lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Dent!
The Retreat
We headed off the morning after our wedding to St. Lucia to honeymoon. We stayed at the most beautiful, quiet resort. It almost seemed as if we had Sugar Beach to ourselves, which made our honeymoon that much more romantic. We spent the majority of our trip lying on the beach next to the turquois water settled between the Pitons of St. Lucia drinking tropical drinks and enjoying each other as husband and wife. Preston surprised me one night with a sunset champagne cruise where we had the sailboat all to ourselves. The trip was such a dream!
