The First Encounter
Colton and I met at the Adair County Fair almost 7 years ago. He was watching a pageant with his friends. He was eating nachos, wearing a black t-shirt…and CROCS. I don’t know how I fell for him in the crocs… but I did. I told one of my girlfriends that he was cute and she ended up knowing him. She gave him my phone number and we went from there. He is the most selfless, caring, and patient person that I have ever met. We have been together almost 7 years and he has never once raised his voice at me. That is the God’s honest truth. (I cant say the same for myself though…whoops).
I have been planning my wedding my entire life, I am honestly not kidding. I had the venue booked BEFORE I was even engaged. That is so sad I know! I had to get married at The Barn at Cedar Grove and she books so fast!! My mom’s best friend is a wedding planner and florist; she did my entire wedding basically. My wedding gown was the very first dress I tried on. It was nothing that I had wanted. My entire Pinterest board was all lace gowns and I ended up with a full beaded one! I kept color-coded binders for all of my vendors (yes. I am that girl). I am very organized and everything was planned down to the napkins.
The Big Day
My wedding was perfect. I’m literally crying as I type this because it was so perfect. I put my heart and soul into this day. It meant absolutely everything to me. My photos turned out amazing. I was just so pleased with everything. My wedding cake melted. It was 320602 degrees and it came with a downpour. BUT it was still perfect. I am so blessed for everyone that helped on that day. Everyone did such a great job and everything just ran so smoothly. It didn’t rain one drop until the EXACT moment it was time for the ceremony to start and then came a small monsoon. All of my friends and family had a great time and that is all I wanted!
We went to Secrets Punta Cana! It was GORGEOUS!!!!! We aren’t lay-around- in-a-chair type of people so we were up and at it everyday. We went scuba diving, speed boating, snorkeling, and zip lining. We had the best time. I was scared to death we were going to get eaten by a shark but we didn’t even see one from afar. Thank the Lord. We met a wonderful couple from Kentucky on an excursion that we still keep in touch with. The airport shut down on our way home while we were already on the airplane because of a storm coming in, but other than that everything was perfect.
