The Proposal

My fiancé truly outdid himself for the proposal by concocting a mock client meeting at St. Maurice’s Church. He asked me to meet him there before our planned dinner to celebrate our three-and-a-half-year anniversary. When I opened the doors, I saw Justin standing at the altar with candles and rose petals all around. It was a picture-perfect moment. I couldn’t believe it! When I got to him, he told me he chose this location to start our lives together because both my parents and grandparents were married here. Then he knelt down to ask me to marry him and I said yes! A huge cheer came from the back of the church – our parents and siblings were hiding and watching the whole thing take place. After the proposal, we went to the upstairs of Lucy’s Surf Bar where all of our family and friends were waiting to celebrate with us. This was truly one of the best nights of my life.

In Preparation

I was that girl who had been planning my wedding since I was a little girl; just needed to find my groom. So, I shared my thoughts and dreams with Eric of Bee’s Wedding and Event Designs. He added his ideas, and the vision was created. Eric and Justin began building custom bars, mirror-top tables, hedge walls, candle walls, chandelier walls and the list went on and on. But the end product was well worth all the “Sunday Fundays” they spent building and painting. As far as other aspects of the wedding, Patton’s Caterers designed a unique menu that not was not only delicious but complemented the design and decor created.

The Big Day

After a sleepover with my girls, we enjoyed mimosas and breakfast while waiting for the beauty team to arrive. My maid, matron of honor and mom were there to help me get ready. I then did a first look with my dad and then with Justin, which was one of my favorite moments of the day. I loved getting that one-on-one time with him before the hustle and bustle of the rest of the day. It also allowed us to get all the pictures we wanted out of the way so once the ceremony was over, we went straight to the reception. We all rode together on a Trolley to the reception, which was such a fun ride with all our bridal party and family. Once getting to the venue, I seriously could not believe how perfect everything looked. It was exactly what I envisioned and couldn’t have done it without the help of Eric and his team. From there, the night was carefree and so effortless. Justin and I danced the night away to Groovy 7 as they played every song we requested.

The Retreat

We spent our Honeymoon at the Sandals Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing beachfront, all-inclusive resort. The staff was so accommodating; it truly made the week relaxing. We bobsled, zip lined and climbed Dunns River Falls. We met some couples from different parts of the US that also got married on the same day as us. Needless to say, it was hard returning back to reality after seven days of Pina Coladas and relaxation.
