The Proposal

Two years after Alisa and Miles first met, on July 31, 2021, Miles planned a surprise engagement. The day began with a charming breakfast at Alisa’s favorite local restaurant. That afternoon, the couple began preparing for a special event at the historic Tennessee State Capitol. Miles’ nerves were beginning to kick in as they got dressed. Alisa sensed something was wrong, but when she asked, he simply said he was excited about the event. Miles purposely left his wallet behind so he had an excuse to return home and get the engagement ring. Once they arrived at the top of the Capitol steps, overlooking Nashville’s sweeping skyline, he knelt and asked Alisa to marry him. They both cried happy years and celebrated the joyous occasion with friends and family.

In Preparation

Soon after the engagement, Alisa and Miles began the wedding planning process with the help of wedding planner Dana McCollum, owner and lead designer of Dana Carroll Co. They chose to have a garden-style wedding at Ravenswood Mansion in the foothills of Brentwood, Tennessee. Wanting to weave aspects of their lives and relationship into the wedding, the garden-style theme was based on Alisa’s grandmother’s love for flowers and gardening. Alisa’s bouquet included flowers from Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia.

The Big Day

On a bright, sunny day on September 17, 2022, Alisa and Miles said “I do” in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Alisa wore a stunning off-the-shoulder Ivory and White Boutique dress with lace and sheer details. The bridesmaids’ dresses complemented the garden outdoor wedding with blue, pink, yellow, and orange floral patterns. The two shared a private first look before they walked down the aisle. Alisa’s uncle, their officiant, led them through their vows as they became husband and wife. Afterward, Alisa and Miles had their first dance and enjoyed the tented reception. While sipping on “his and hers” signature drinks, they danced the night away with their family and friends.

The Retreat

Alisa and Miles traveled to Exuma Cays, Bahamas, for their honeymoon, where they stayed at the hidden gem, Staniel Cay Yacht Club, in a waterfront bungalow. They spent seven days island hopping on a Boston Whaler, swimming with sharks, snorkeling hidden grottos, and exploring sunken airplanes. The newlyweds agreed it was the perfect way to begin a new chapter of their lives together.
