The Proposal
On the day of their engagement, Olivia and Lindsay had a relaxing day at home—working in the garden, cleaning, and grilling steaks for dinner. After eating, Lindsey asked if Olivia if she wanted to go with him onto the roof to listen to the Grateful Dead. Olivia agreed and propped up a metal ladder on the roof while Lindsay packed a backpack with a bottle of 2011 Domaine M & C Lapierre Morgon that he had been saving for over a decade. After a few minutes on the gable, Lindsey asked Olivia to retrieve to get the corkscrew out of the backpack. Instead, Olivia only found what she thought was a charging block and put it back into the bag. Lindsay asked her to check again, and when Olivia took out the “charging block” it accidentally flew out of her hands. Fortunately, Lindsey was able to stick his foot out and catch it. Then, Lindsay was on one knee with the ring box asking Olivia to marry him.

In Preparation
Together, Olivia and Lindsay have spent the past eight years building their business, Lowcountry Street Grocery, a social enterprise dedicated to strengthening the local food system and promoting food equity in Charleston, SC. The couple were determined to reflect these values in their celebration, supporting the local economy of West Virginia, sourcing vendors from Appalachia, and procuring food from their South Carolina farmers. They decided to hold their wedding at Olivia’s family home—an incredibly special property nestled in the hills of Lewisburg, West Virginia. Together they thoughtfully selected guest favors of local honey, native milkweed seeds, and wine from a friend’s natural wine shop. Their wedding florals were a beautiful blend of Charleston’s southern charm and the natural beauty of Appalachia.

The Big Day
Olivia Myers and Lindsay Barrow were married on Saturday October 19th, 2024, surrounded by beloved friends and family. Weddings guests were welcomed by the couple’s business’ signature school bus—a tribute to the bride’s late mother—and soothing instrumental music, played by local Appalachian musicians, including the groom’s best friend, Gerald Gregory.
Set against the stunning fall foliage of West Virginia, the ceremony took place on a crisp Autumn day. Attendees enjoyed drinks of vermouth and specialty wines from Charleston. The outdoor reception, held a beautiful tent, featured seasonal florals and earthy vegetation. The custom-designed bar, adorned with ginkgo tree leaves—a symbol of the bride’s hometown—added an elegant touch, while a rustic overhead piece of ginkgo leaves completed the nature-inspired decor. The wedding cake, a replica of the one from the Lindsay’s parents’ wedding, was a touching surprise for his mother, celebrating their 50th anniversary. In true West Virginia style, the evening ended with joyous dancing and “Country Roads” playing to close the celebration

The Retreat
For their Recovery Day trip Olivia and Lindsay, long-time fans of the Buffalo Bills team, bought tickets for the Bills and Ravens Divisional game. The couple traveled to Buffalo, New York. Although the weather was incredibly chilly, the newlyweds had a blast surrounded by Bills Mafia, bowling ball shots, and delicious wings.
