The Proposal
Keeley and Ian met in May 2021 in New Orleans, Louisiana, during bachelor and bachelorette parties. Their groups joined when Ian’s friends helped Keeley’s group complete a scavenger hunt. Although Keeley and Ian hit it off, they didn’t expect anything to happen. However, after a few months of talking over the phone and social media, Keeley made the bold decision to visit Ian in Abu Dhabi, where he was living at the time. They had an amazing time exploring the city together and decided there was something between them that they wanted to pursue. In April 2022, Ian moved to Washington, DC, and was finally living in the same city as Keeley. In February 2023, during a private moment at the Line Hotel, Ian proposed to Keeley, with their beloved dog, Bono, as a witness.

In Preparation
When it came time to plan their wedding, Keeley and Ian wanted something that felt “timeless, not trendy, and effortless, not overly orchestrated.” Keeley and Ian fell in love with Meridian House—a historic mansion in Washington DC—from the start. Working with planner Elizabeth Duncan, their design focused on enhancing the natural beauty of the property while embracing the home as their own for the day. From Something Vintage, Keeley selected residential style place settings and furniture to elevate the whimsical design approach. Keeley and Ian embraced a color story that started bold and bright for their garden ceremony and then transitioned into understated, softer tones inside the historic dining room. Elizabeth enlisted Celia with House of Jeanne flowers to help create floral arrangements to appear fresh-picked from the garden. One of the couples’ favorite ideas was a “Bloom Bar” where guests could pick their own petal or herb concoction to toss as they walked down the aisle as newlyweds.

The Big Day
Keeley Franklin and Ian Bryson were married on July 27, 2024, at the Meridian House in Washington, DC. “While we had so many of our favorite people there to celebrate with us, a few special family members couldn’t be.” Keeley and Ian had each lost a parent and other close family members and wanted to include them in meaningful ways at their wedding—and decided on displaying framed photos of our loved ones in the Meridian House entryway. With the help of Valerie at Love Couture, Keeley was able to transform her mother’s 70s-era gown into a fun “second look” dress with a corset and flared skirt. “It felt really special to have her with me like that on my wedding day.” Ian’s wedding ring was his father’s. The wedding celebration ended with delicious ice cream treats from Mount Desert Ice Cream.

The Retreat
Keeley and Ian have yet to go on their honeymoon—but are planning on visiting South East Asia.
