The most exclusive and lavish of weddings are hosted at the Armstrong-Kessler Mansion, boasting magnificent gardens, elaborate decor, and intricate architectural details. The only Italian Renaissance Revival home in Savannah offers many opulent entertaining spaces like The Main Hall with a Cantilevered staircase, a sprawling event lawn with lush plantings, and a stately dining room.

For this early spring-styled shoot, the dining table, which has served as the mansion’s hub of entertainment since the estate’s emergence in 1919, was adorned with sterling silver candelabras, crystal glasses, a bountiful array of ivory and soft pink peonies, and a display of white strawberries to welcome the vernal season.

While the Armstrong-Kessler Mansion is exemplar of Italian Renaissance Revival style architecture, the gold-bordered stationery, designed by C. Creative Co., paid homage to the American colonial period. To achieve this colonial look, some of Haley Jenkins’ stylistic choices included requesting American Scribe font and dressing the invitation with a vintage postage stamp depicting Benjamin Franklin.

The mansion’s exterior offers many picturesque locations for couples to capture their big day with grand style. The marble-bricked staircase, which marks the estate’s entrance and advances to towering granite columns, takes up the observer’s peripheral vision and creates an expansive, jaw-dropping backdrop which Haley Jenkins used her models, Sydney Wammock and Robert Damisch, to capture.

Other opportune photo locations throughout the property include the two gardens, which feature a 55-foot-long pool, a grand antique Italian bronze fountain, and several grandiose statues that appear to guard the lawn. Sydney and Robert admitted delight in having their picture taken among the robust sculpted lawn art as they found an audience in their newfound frozen friends.
