Evan Nelson and Mallory McClure, both from Little Rock, Arkansas, got engaged on October 5. Evan, a native of Little Rock, works as a judicial law clerk for a federal district court judge. Mallory, originally from Batesville, Arkansas, is employed in economic development at the Little Rock Regional Chamber. The couple met in February and quickly formed a strong bond. They enjoy exploring everything the Little Rock area has to offer, and the Saturday of Evan’s proposal was no different.
Evan and Mallory began their day with an 11 a.m. Wine Experience at Enchanting Evening Winery, located in Little Italy, Arkansas, just twenty minutes west of Little Rock. Upon their arrival, they started a wine tasting in the winery’s yurt, accompanied by owner Roger Quaid and another couple from Michigan. During the tasting, they sampled five different wine varietals produced on the property. They then blended these varietals to create their personalized Enchanting Wine, which they enjoyed throughout the experience. Evan crafted a semi-dry white blend, while Mallory created a sweet red blend.
After the tasting, Roger guided the couples on a tour of the winery, explaining the processes and equipment used to turn grape juice into wine. He then led them through the bottling procedure where they filled, corked, and wax-sealed their customized blends. Once back in the tasting room, they added personalized photo frame labels to their bottles featuring pictures Roger had taken of them earlier in the day. However, unbeknownst to Mallory, Roger swapped Evan’s label with one that read, “Will YOU Marry ME?”
Evan then invited Mallory to enjoy the remainder of her glass of wine on the winery’s outdoor deck, which overlooks Pinnacle Mountain. Once outside, he revealed the special label and proposed with an engagement ring.
Evan and Mallory are set to be married on August 16 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Little Rock.
