Lizzy McDermott and Chris Stoeckle were married October 28th, 2017 at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina before 200 friends and family. The bride is the daughter of Dr. John McDermott and Dr. Nancy Nussmeier and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Stoeckle, all of Boston, Massachusetts. Fox Events planned an incredible event that took full advantage of the natural beauty of Middleton’s grounds and traditional Southern setting. The ceremony was held at the Butterfly Lakes overlooking the Ashley River, followed by cocktail hour in the Stableyards, and the reception in a tent under Middleton’s moss-draped live oak trees. Guests were greeted with mini bottles of champagne and beer as they enjoyed their walk through the gardens to the ceremony. The tent was decorated with delicate white draping and gray linens with touches of navy and gold. Farm tables lined with garland, a large chandelier covered with florals and greenery, and a vibrant lounge completed the design. The guests enjoyed traditional Southern fare and Dunkin’ Donuts, a New England staple, for dessert. After the confections, the RiverTown Band set the mood for an energetic celebration that ended with a sparkler send-off for the bride and groom.
