Tucked just between Athens and Atlanta is Bishop, Georgia, which boasts The Farm at High Shoals, a luxury wedding venue that exudes European elegance at this styled Italian garden wedding. Walls of columnar trees shrouded the property’s lush prairie fields and small lake complete with a fairy-tale stone bridge, creating a private setting for a romantic proposal and an even more special I do.

A simple, yet elegant proposal was set up in front of a stunning view of the glistening lake. Knowing that the little details are what truly make the experience, Mary Ellen Baker, a skilled planner with a vision and the owner of Georgia Grace Weddings, made sure a custom bottle of La Marca prosecco was on hand for the first toast. And on the soon-to-be bride’s hand: a beaming, emerald cut halo engagement ring.

To personalize the details of the big day, the hand painted, watercolor invitation suite with coordinating menus and detail cards designed by Sarah T Moore Designs and printed at Eldridge Stationers depicted the venue with whimsical flair and even included the bridge where the proposal took place and where the ceremony was to be held.

The bride glowed in a Sākred Bridal lacy, strapless gown with a tiered tulle skirt. Her effortless, sweeping updo by Rachel Carter exposed her décolleté, allowing her delicate necklace to make a statement of its own.

As if saying I do at the same place you were proposed to isn’t sweet enough, the couple included their furry special someone, Finley, in the celebrations. He donned a wedding accessory of his own with a floral collar that matched the stunning display of white, pink, and orange florals courtesy of Gardenia Floral Design.

Subtle gold details were intermixed throughout each table setting, timeless mixed wood rentals from Oconee Events that elevated the venue’s luxurious countryside ambiance. Simple greenery draped behind the chairs struck the balance of classic elegance and modern flair and enhanced the beauty of the florals, candles, and crystal glassware. Deckled edge place settings held a personalized thank you from the couple to their guests for entering into their Italian garden wedding dreamscape and celebrating their special day.
