The photographers are provided the same venues decorated by top local wedding planners and are graded based on their unique vision and imagery of the venue and its design details.
The Styled Challenge is a design competition showcasing the works of talented wedding professionals from local areas. Each designer is given the task to create an exceptional wedding ceremony and reception arrangement in the provided venue.

Design: For this wedding set in a historic hotel, the design vision seamlessly blends Victorian and Georgian influences with a soft, romantic color palette of lavender, peach, and white. The ceremony, nestled within a quaint garden courtyard, is defined by its serene ambiance, anchored by a central fountain surrounded by lush ferns and vibrant floral arrangements in soft hues. Suspended lace parasols drift elegantly overhead, each adorned with tiny parcels of lavender and roses, evoking a whimsical charm. A Victorian-style arbor, draped in delicate ivy serves as the ceremony’s focal point, adorned with lace fans and parasols while bursts of lavender and peach blooms provide color and texture against the verdant greenery.
The transition to the ornate ballroom for the reception continues this timeless elegance. A grand fireplace crowned with an opulent floral mantelpiece below a magnificent antique mirror reflects the grandeur of the past. Pendant Victorian lamps and large floral candelabras create a warm, inviting glow, casting flickering light across the room. Ornate details, from vintage lace overlays to carefully selected floral accents, enhance the ballroom’s historic character, immersing guests in a refined yet whimsical atmosphere. This thoughtful interplay of soft florals, cascading greenery, and vintage décor elements offer a timeless celebration, evoking the grace and romance of a bygone era while celebrating the couple’s unique love story.
Venue: George Washington Hotel is a historic hotel in the heart of Winchester, Virginia. Its beginnings date to 1924 when it was built to accommodate railroad travelers. The hotel is beautifully designed in the neoclassical style and served as the headquarters for the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. The hotel declined in 1978 and was abandoned until 2008 when it reopened as part of the Wyndham Grand Hotels. Currently, it is a luxury hotel featuring all the desired amenities.
