Southern Bride is thrilled to announce the new Winter/Spring 2020 issue featuring cover stars, Tyler Rich and Sabina Gadecki. The adorable newlyweds gave us the inside scoop from their magical day and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with all of you. Today, we’re unveiling details from Tyler’s proposal and their wedding planning process!
The Proposal. Sabina and I took a solo trip to Runaway Bay, Jamaica after a friend’s wedding on the opposite side of the Island in Negril. On our second day there, the hotel told us that they were hosting a 4-course lunch for us prepared by the head chef. I hired a local Reggae artists to stop by our table that was overlooking the beach and sing “Yellow” by Coldplay (our song) while we were eating. I also had him sing for others dining near us so when he did make his way over to our table, it seemed completely normal.
He started with a Bob Marley song and then asked if there was another song we would like to hear. I asked if he knew any Coldplay and of course, he then played “Yellow” and I got down on one knee to propose! That evening, we watched the sunset with four of our closest friends who were there waiting to surprise Sabina.
The Preparation. Sara Fried, of Fête Nashville Luxury Weddings, connected us with all of our amazing vendors and brought our vision to life. We met at a music festival and spent a lot of time on the road at shows because of my job, so we wanted an indoor and outdoor, festival themed wedding. More than anything, we wanted our celebration to allow our guests to step into our world for the night.

We planned a cigar bar, flower crown station, neon signs, teepees, etc. to create the type of vibe we wanted our guests to feel. We had a folk, bluegrass quartet as entertainment. Our reception mirrored that of a DJ set in a tent and the photobooth allowed for candid images. The food and alcohol we provided represented us as a couple: from Pierogies to beer brewed in Northern California. There were so many moving parts but everything came together beautifully!
