The Proposal
Abby and Jason met in college at Liberty University, where they lived in the same dorm. While Abby knew a proposal was coming soon, she was pleasantly surprised when Jason popped the question during what she believed to be his family’s Christmas photo session at a local Christmas tree farm. Jason told Abigail about his family’s tradition of taking Christmas card photos together every year, and Jason used the opportunity to ask her to be his wife in front of friends and family. A photographer was close by to capture the sweet moment!

In Preparation
Since their wedding was in the spring, Abby and Jason planned to incorporate hues of pink, yellow and orange throughout the design. Madison Moseley Event Design helped them carry out their vision for their big day. Exquisite floral arrangements by Once Gathered, including flower columns which served as a beautiful backdrop as the couple exchanged their vows and vibrant arrangements adorning the reception venue, highlighted the beauty of the bountiful season in North Carolina. Continuing with this theme, Abby and Jason chose Dawn Marie Photography because of the bright and airy style of her photos.

The Big Day
With the outdoor ceremony site, the indoor reception area with high ceilings and large windows allowing in plenty of natural light, and a patio space perfect for photos and cocktail hour, Board and Batten was an ideal venue for Abby and Jason. Since being surrounded by family and friends as they celebrated their marriage was so important to the couple, the family prayer time during the ceremony was a highlight of the day. Tears of joy were shed as the father of the bride saw his daughter for a first look and as the groom watched in awe as his stunning bride walked down the aisle.

The Retreat
Immediately following the wedding, the newlyweds traveled to Maui, Hawaii for their honeymoon. Neither had been to Hawaii before, and they wanted to experience the adventure of traveling somewhere new together. While staying at the Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas, they explored the beach and resort pools, enjoyed a breathtaking sunset sailing excursion, and embraced part of the culture of the island by making their own leis.
