The Proposal
Dean planned a trip to Kauai for him and Caelynn to spend quality time together. One day during their vacation, the pair ventured off on a challenging 20-mile hike on the Na Pali Coast. After about 11 miles, they approached a gorgeous beach; one of the most incredible landscapes they have ever seen and the only way to access the beach was by hiking in. As sunset approached, Dean told Caelynn he wanted to take some photos for a new TikTok trend. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as they are always capturing content for social media. The two were back to back, attempting to get the perfect shot, and when they both spun around, Dean bent down on one knee to ask Caelynn to marry him. They’ll always remember that beach as the most romantic place they’ve ever visited together. The newly engaged couple laid on the sand and watched the sun set, savoring the most incredible day.
In Preparation
Caelynn loved every moment of wedding planning. She did quickly realize she was a bit in over her head though and enlisted the help of Carly and Emily with Milk Glass Productions, to bring their dream ceremony and reception to life. Though Caelynn is originally from Virginia, Dean grew up outside of Aspen and over time, it grew to become a very special place for both of them. The couple had a list of venues to tour but after seeing the second venue, Beyul Retreat, they knew it was the one. The property sits on over 30-acres of land and accommodates around 70 people. It was spacious but also felt intimate and a place that everyone could spend time together unplugged in nature.
The Big Day
The pair deemed their wedding weekend “Camp Bell”, which kicked off on a Thursday when everyone checked in to Beyul. For the entire stay, guests had coffee together as well as every meal. It really felt like an adult summer camp. Friday morning consisted of breakfast together as usual and then everyone partook in field day: hiking, paddle boarding, fishing, and enjoying their surroundings. That evening, a welcome dinner was held and the attire was mountain chic. Dinner was served in an Aspen grove and games were played in the main lodge. On Saturday, Caelynn and Dean exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. Post nuptials, the bride and groom walked down to the lake and took the most beautiful photos in a canoe. It’s a moment they’ll treasure forever. Cocktail hour, a seated outdoor dinner, and dancing ensued. The reception was one for the books with an incredible band, Stratosphere, and an awesome tattoo artist who set up a custom tattoo parlor pop-up.
The Retreat
After the wedding, Caelynn and Dean drove to Aspen where they stayed at the resort town’s only Five-Star/Five-Diamond luxury hotel, The Little Nell. The newlyweds soaked up each other’s company and were able to relax and unwind after a whirlwind weekend. They also house hunted while there and are excited to move close to Aspen in the near future. For their honeymoon, Caelynn and Dean plan to travel to South Africa in December and explore all of the incredible sights, cuisine, and culture the country has to offer.
