The Proposal
Claire and Hermes’ love story began in New York City. Claire moved to New York from Louisiana and began her job as a nurse at the same hospital where Hermes worked. After two years together, Hermes proposed to Claire in front of her family in New Orleans. On their previous trip, Hermes had snuck off with Claire’s mom to visit the family jeweler and purchase an engagement ring. He initially planned to propose over the Christmas holiday, but after returning to New Orleans and receiving the ring from Claire’s mom, Hermes was too excited to wait.
While making cookies to follow Claire’s grandmother’s recipe and failing to replicate the Sazerac Bar’s famous “Sugar Cookie Martini,” Hermes told Claire to enjoy her family’s company while he fixed her a drink. Claire’s sister put on their favorite Chris Stapleton song, “Tennessee Whiskey,” and Hermes tied the ring to the stem of the martini glass. In her pajamas, surrounded by family, Hermes asked Claire to marry him, and she ecstatically accepted.

In Preparation
Following their engagement, Claire and Hermes knew that the streets of New Orleans would be the enchanting inspiration for their wedding. They wanted their special day filled with lively jazz music and delicious Creole cuisine. The engaged couple fully immersed themselves in the unique charm of New Orleans to fine-tune each detail of their wedding. They decided upon the historic French Quarter, Marché, for their reception venue and the picturesque church, the Holy Name of Jesus, on St. Charles Avenue for their ceremony. Each location held the promise of creating unforgettable memories.
The excited couple loved every second of planning their wedding celebration to blend together the spirit of Big Easy with the significance of their individual cultures. Claire and Hermes were able to craft an amazing wedding that embraced the essence of the New Orleans and honored the love story that brought them together.

The Big Day
On Saturday, December 10th, 2022, Claire Harvin married Hermes Quose at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. The newlyweds’ luxurious wedding began at the Westin Hotel Canal Place, decorated in “Movie Style” for the wedding night. Hermes made sure he had all the essentials for his guys: cigars and tequila. Claire and the ladies toasted mimosas while she got dressed in her Martina Liana wedding gown.
When the vintage Rolls Royce carrying Claire and her father arrived at the church, Hermes could feel her presence. Standing at the altar, waiting for the doors to open, Hermes was overcome with emotion. Tears of happiness were shared with the wedding guests. As Claire and Hermes were blessed with the sacrament of matrimony, the church organ and trumpet players began their musical celebration.
After the ceremony, a streetcar awaited the attendees to transport them to their next destination. The married couple led the procession, riding in the Rolls Royce to the reception at the Marché New Orleans, located in the French Quarter, overlooking the Mississippi River. The celebration was complete with a traditional New Orleans second line in the streets and a “money dance,” an Albanian custom, showering the bride and groom with money as a sign of love and appreciation.

The Retreat
For their honeymoon, Claire and Hermes traveled to Barbados. Upon arriving, the couple was transfixed by the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding nature. The gorgeous turquoise water and powdery white sand made the newlyweds feel as if they were transported into a dream. Claire and Hermes enjoyed lovely sunset strolls along the beautiful beaches and ended their nights with intimate dinners overlooking the ocean. They explored the lush landscapes, discovered hidden coves, and immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of Barbados. Each day was filled with moments of pure bliss. Their honeymoon provided the couple with the perfect setting for the beginning of their journey as a married couple.
