The Proposal

After dating through college at Appalachian State, navigating their first careers, adopting the sweetest pup named Tucker, and moving across state lines together, Bailey finally popped the question to Deanna. The moment unfolded on a quiet, private stretch of Debordieu Beach, a special place near their family’s beloved beach home where they were enjoying a summer getaway. As they strolled along the sand, Tucker trotted beside them, and Deanna had a gut feeling that “it” was about to happen. With the waves gently crashing and the sun setting just right, Deanna was taken aback when Bailey got down on one knee with a family heirloom ring, previously belonging to his namesake. Tears flowed, and her answer was an immediate, joy-filled yes!

Deanna had tried and tried to FaceTime her parents, but in a perfectly planned twist, he had teamed up with his sister-in-law and wedding planner, Tabitha Clark, to pull off a beachfront surprise celebration. Friends and family had traveled in from near and far, hiding just out of sight before rushing in with cheers and hugs. The group stayed the weekend, toasting to Bailey and Deanna’s brand-new engagement and the love story still unfolding.

With the backdrop secured, the details quickly followed.

Bailey envisioned an unforgettable celebration—a true party where friends could relax, let loose, and dance the night away. Deanna, on the other hand, imagined a day filled with bold, vibrant florals and soft, romantic touches. They worked hand-in-hand with an incredible team of vendors to bring both visions to life, blending high energy with heartfelt beauty in a way that felt completely and authentically them.

The Big Day

When you picture perfect mountain weather, you’re imagining Bailey and Deanna’s wedding day. The air was crisp, the greens were lush, and from the very first moment to the last dance, the entire day radiated a kind of joy that’s hard to put into words. The ceremony unfolded beneath a canopy of hanging fresh flowers that swayed gently in the breeze. When they shared photos with florist Kahly Antel, her response said it all: “It’s MAGIC.” After a ceremony filled with happy tears, guests transitioned into cocktail hour, sipping on signature drinks and enjoying a selection of local bar favorites. Modern hits played softly in the background, performed live by Deans Duets, setting the perfect tone for the celebration ahead.

As guests made their way into the reception, they were greeted with a multi-station dinner—each one reflecting the couple’s favorite bites: a fresh raw bar, build-your-own tacos, a mac and cheese station, and more. Once the band started, the party never slowed down. The dance floor was full all night as guests sang along to top hits, laughed, and celebrated with full hearts. To cap off the perfect day, Bailey and Deanna had the ultimate send-off—waving goodbye through a sea of custom pompoms and Appalachian State foam fingers, surrounded by the people who love them most.

The Retreat

After their dreamy mountain wedding, Bailey and Deanna set off on the adventure of a lifetime—their dream honeymoon through Italy. With the help of Sarah Young Travels, the couple curated a once-in-a-lifetime itinerary, exploring everything from the sun-soaked cliffs of Sorrento and the charm of Capri to the rolling vineyards of Castelnuovo Berardenga and the timeless beauty of Florence. Their days were filled with romantic boat cruises, and sunset strolls through cobblestone streets. They toasted with endless glasses of wine poured straight from the vine, indulged in fresh, handmade pasta at every stop, and fully embraced la dolce vita at every turn.

It was the perfect way to begin their next chapter—just the two of them, soaking in the beauty of Italy and the joy of being newlyweds.
