The Proposal
When it came time for the proposal, Jordan orchestrated a surprise rooftop moment in New York City. He tricked Eric into thinking they were stopping for a quick photo before a residency party—little did Eric know, the party was completely made up. Waiting on the rooftop were a musician playing their song, a stunning arrangement of flowers, and the most meaningful surprise of all: both of their families gathered to celebrate their love. Surrounded by the twinkling city skyline and the people who mattered most, Eric was overwhelmed with joy, love, and certainty that they were meant to spend their lives together.
Months later, Eric wanted Jordan to experience the magic of being proposed to—and to share in the joy of professing his love. On a sun-soaked summer vacation in Portofino, Italy, with the sparkling Mediterranean as a backdrop, Eric asked Jordan to marry him. The moment was intimate, emotional, and unforgettable—a reflection of a love that began with one song in Nashville, survived long-distance, and grew into a life full of shared laughter, support, and adventure.
In Preparation
Eric and Jordan knew they wanted to have their wedding in Italy. But, before their wedding in Italy, Eric and Jordan decided to make their marriage official in the place that had become so meaningful to them: Southampton, New York, where they spend their summers.
The Hamptons has been a special part of their lives and their relationship from the very beginning. Eric had been coming to the Hamptons for more than a decade, while Jordan’s connection to the area began when the couple met more than three years ago. What started as summer weekends spent escaping the pace of the city became a place where their relationship flourished—a peaceful retreat filled with memories, milestones, and time together.
They often look back fondly on the early days of their relationship, when they rented their first “beach shack” in Southampton. Today, they have a home of their own in Water Mill, and they can’t help but reflect on just how far they’ve come.
So when it came time to decide where they would have their legal wedding, the choice was effortless. They didn’t hesitate: it had to be the Hamptons.
The Big Day
With both of their families gathered at the house, Eric had one more surprise in store for Jordan. He rented a Moke and whisked Jordan away for a ride to the Southampton Town Clerk’s Office, turning what could have been a simple legal formality into another unforgettable chapter of their story.
Surrounded by family, Eric and Jordan were legally married by Sundy A. Schermeyer. It was, by all accounts, the most beautiful day.
Afterward, they took a drive to the beach—their “happy place”—for their first walk together as a married couple. With the ocean beside them and the people they love nearby, it was the perfect way to begin this next chapter, in the place that had already witnessed so much of their story.
The Retreat
Eric and Jordan will plan their honeymoon after their official wedding celebration in Italy.
