The Proposal
Roxanne and Antonio first met in 2013 at a party that Roxanne hosted for a mutual friend. At that time, both were in relationships, and aside from a brief, courteous exchange, it was an ordinary night. After that initial meeting, Roxanne and Antonio didn’t see each other again for seven years. When Roxanne found herself single, she began to reminisce about the handsome man she had met all those years ago. With the help of mutual friends, she and Antonio arranged a group date for their first meeting since the party. The couple dated for a few years and eventually decided to test the strength of their relationship by participating in the dramatic Netflix series, The Ultimatum Season 2. They faced the challenges that the show presented, as well as the scrutiny of public exposure. In November 2022, Antonio proposed to Roxanne in a heartfelt episode that culminated in a happy ending. Despite the public nature of the proposal, Roxanne and Antonio’s moment was just as special as any private proposal could be.
In Preparation
The couple decided on a dreamy Georgia castle Chateau Elan for their big day. They desired an intimate, moody ‘Otis Redding’ themed wedding. Roxanne and Antonio are Soul Music fans and felt Chateau Elan embodied their vision with features such as moody and modern tasting rooms, elegant design and beautiful grounds. The couple also needed a spacious venue to accommodate close friends and family for the weekend, making the experience feel like a weekend staycation instead of just one day of celebrating the couple’s union.
The Big Day
Roxanne and Antonio opted for a traditional Persian ceremony. Roxanne’s father is German-American and her mom is Persian. Her parents shared a Persian ceremony for their wedding as did Roxanne’s sister. It was of utmost importance for Roxanne to incorporate Persian traditional elements such as sofreh aghd – a spread of symbolic items representing the couple’s new life together. Some of Roxanne’s favorite moments from the wedding are the personally written vows, the first time her father saw her in her wedding dress and the Persian tradition of dipping their pinky fingers into honey and sharing it with each other to signify the sweetness of their union.
The Retreat
Roxanne and Antonio hosted a post-wedding day vineyard sunset dinner in lieu of a honeymoon due to their entrepreneurial demands.
