The Proposal

Glenys and Branden attended a birthday trip to Hawaii with a few of their closest friends. One day, as they enjoyed an ATV ride through the Kualoa Ranch, laughing and getting covered in dirt, they were slated for a sunset photoshoot that evening. The couple had so much fun at the ranch, they nearly lost track of time. Glenys, not anticipating an evening to remember, suggested rescheduling the shoot. The couple managed to get to the hotel in time to freshen up and attend the beach shoot.
Branden arranged what Glenys believed would be a romantic beach photo shoot, with the golden sunset wrapping them in the most perfect glow. As they stood by the ocean talking, Branden suddenly asked her to dance — completely out of the blue, with no music playing — and she followed his lead, swaying in the sand, lost in the moment. Then, in the middle of that quiet dance, Branden got down on one knee and professed his love for her, sharing his heartfelt desire to make her his wife. In that instant, she realized the trip wasn’t just a celebration — it was the beginning of their forever. She said “yes”. That night, under the Hawaiian sky, became one of the happiest moments of their lives — a memory forever embedded in their hearts.

Their wedding preparation felt like a dream — filled with excitement, love, and what seemed like a million beautiful decisions. The most important choice was the destination. They wanted a place that truly reflected who they were, their story, and their roots. Glenys suggested New Orleans — a city that had shaped so much of her life. Since migrating from Honduras, she had called New Orleans home from childhood into adulthood. Its culturally rich environment and undeniable uniqueness made it the perfect backdrop, and they knew their guests would fall in love with it just as they had.
When they chose Southern Oaks as their venue, their excitement grew even more. Friends and family traveled from Las Vegas, Germany, California, Washington, and Honduras, all eager to celebrate their union and experience the magic of their love in a city that meant so much to them. The three-day celebration began with a beautiful bridal shower, continued with an intimate welcome dinner, and culminated in their unforgettable wedding day.

The Big Day

The wedding day felt like a true fairytale come to life, beautifully highlighting the union of two families under the blessing of God. The bride arrived in a horse and carriage, welcomed and embraced by the overwhelming love of their guests. As she walked down the aisle toward her future husband, the world seemed to fade — she could only see Branden. They exchanged vows before family and friends, sealing their commitment with full hearts. One of the most memorable moments came during Branden’s vows when he said, “I will make your happiness my priority.” In that instant, the happy tears she had been trying so hard to hold back began to fall, overwhelmed by the depth of his love and sincerity.
The venue was exquisitely transformed, radiating an elegant ambiance adorned with soft pink florals and vintage glam décor. The evening unfolded into a joyful celebration as they danced the night away, and it all concluded with a festive second line exit, surrounded by their guests — the perfect ending to the most unforgettable day of their lives.
