The Proposal

Jenna and Brock met at Iowa State University during their freshman year. They were casually acquainted through sports, although their mutual friends had a feeling that Jenna and Brock would make a great couple. Brock was drafted into the NFL in May 2022 and moved to California. Not wanting to miss his chance, Brock reached out to Jenna, and the two began a long-distance relationship. A year later, the couple vacationed in St. Cloud, FL. One day, Brock told Jenna that he needed to attend a marketing event with a white dress code. Later, he mentioned they would stop by a friend’s house who wanted to show them his lake property before the event. The couple strolled to the lake dock, where Brock surprised Jenna with a proposal. To top off the magical moment, their family came out on the pontoon boat to congratulate the newly engaged couple. Jenna was overwhelmed by the perfect moment.

In Preparation

A month after getting engaged, Jenna began planning the wedding. With strong ties to Iowa, she knew it was the perfect location to exchange vows and celebrate with her loved ones. The couple wanted a venue with character to accommodate their 350 guests. They enlisted the expertise of Event Planner Taylor Boesen and ultimately chose The River Center, a modern and spacious venue flooded with natural light and adorned with exposed brick. The couple’s design aesthetic was a classic, timeless look of black and white.

The Big Day

The ceremony took place at the historic Plymouth Church in Des Moines. The beautiful Gothic Revival-style building provided a perfect setting for their union. After the ceremony, the guests were welcomed to the River Center, where a spectacularly decorated event space awaited them. The dinner area was on two floors, with cascading floral arrangements providing a lush setting. The highlight of the evening was the dancing, followed by an impromptu karaoke party exuberantly supplied by the band.
