The Proposal
Kamryn and Tanner first met in Nashville, Tennessee, but their first date didn’t exactly go as planned. Thanks to a wrong number, their initial meetup turned into an accidental stand-up. But when they finally did connect, sparks flew instantly. They dated for a while before making things official, just in time to catch COVID together. Rather than spend that time apart, they recover side-by-side for nearly two weeks—24/7—which only confirmed what they already suspected: they genuinely loved being around each other. After their second anniversary in 2022, Tanner got down on one knee at Sevier Park—where they had their very first date—surrounded by red and white rose petals. The moment was secretly photographed by Kamryn’s best friend, who had flown in from Boston to surprise her. Even more friends and family were waiting at Greenhouse Bar to toast the newly engaged couple.

In Preparation
Kamryn and Tanner chose the historic Peabody Memphis hotel for their wedding day venue, a natural choice with so many friends and family coming from out of town. To make it a true experience, the couple curated an itinerary of Memphis eateries and local sights, encouraging their loved ones to treat the celebration like a mini vacation. Kamryn had a clear vision, drawing inspiration from Hollywood’s Golden Age—especially Audrey Hepburn classics like Sabrina— with a Chinese-American fusion. Their rich palette of reds, sunset oranges, and pops of gold tied in effortlessly with the Peabody’s elegant interiors. She opted for a live brass band, floating glass orbs, and a vinyl record seating chart crafted by Tanner and herself. Every detail was intentional, including the custom fortune cookies and the bar stocked with their favorite candies.

The Big Day
The day began with emotional first looks with their parents and the bridal party, followed by a private rooftop first look between Kamryn and Tanner, where they exchanged personal vows with laughter and happy tears. The rooftop ceremony was a formal black-tie-optional affair, with one of Kamryn’s bridesmaids performing live on piano as the processional began. As Kamryn walked down the aisle escorted by her father, she paused to hand a single white rose to both her and Tanner’s mothers—a soft, beautiful tribute. After the cocktail hour, guests moved to the newly renovated ballroom for the reception. The first dances included a choreographed Viennese waltz, a nod to Kamryn’s dance background and one of the couple’s favorite shows, Gilmore Girls. Kamryn also shared a Tennessee waltz with her 93-year-old grandfather (his one request for the wedding). The night truly felt full of love, as extended family members came from all over to celebrate the couple, all made possible by Kamryn’s loving parents. Later in the evening, the newlyweds made a grand re-entrance in their second looks: Tanner in a red embroidered suit and Kamryn in her Modern Phoenix Qipao—a stunning, mermaid-silhouette Chinese wedding gown from East Meets Dress, one of the few U.S. suppliers of traditional cheongsams.

The Retreat
After the excitement of the big day, Kamryn and Tanner jetted off to Cancun, Mexico, for a sun-soaked honeymoon—ready to start their next chapter as husband and wife, and co-parents to their beloved cat, Pumpkin.
