The Proposal
Lauren and Cam met in magical Mexico through their mutual friend, country star Luke Bryan. They first laid eyes on each other backstage at Luke’s annual Crash My Playa party, but it wasn’t until the beach party that night that Lauren playfully called out Cam for carrying four drinks on the beach alone. Cam joined Lauren and her friends, and love blossomed. According to the couple, Cam attempted to propose three times, but Lauren unknowingly botched it each time. On one occasion, while the couple was enjoying their first night in their new home, Cam planned a romantic proposal by the fireplace with a bottle of wine. However, there were workers at the home, and Lauren invited them to stay for dinner. After dinner, the workers continued working, and Lauren went to sleep while Cam enjoyed the bottle of wine by himself. To avoid further delays, Cam promptly proposed in the morning, and Lauren said yes!

In Preparation
Lauren and Cam initially had different ideas for their wedding – she wanted a small, intimate affair while Cam envisioned a larger celebration. The couple compromised and hosted a party for 450 of their closest friends and family, feeling incredibly grateful for the support they received. Lauren wanted to showcase exceptional food, drinks, and a great band to provide their guests with the utmost hospitality. The wedding planning hit a snag when they had to find a new wedding planner just a month before the big day. Fortunately, Event Designer Sara Fried, owner of Fête Nashville Luxury Weddings, stepped in to save the day. Sara and her team worked tirelessly to put together a beautiful wedding in such a short time, and their hard work paid off as Lauren and Cam’s dream wedding became a reality.

The Big Day
Lauren, originally from Georgia, has called Nashville home for several years. The city plays a big part in Lauren’s life, as does country music. It was a natural choice for the couple to host their wedding in Nashville. After viewing a few venues, they decided on the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Cam playfully claims he chose green and gold as an ode to his high school mascot – the Hornets. Green is Lauren’s favorite color, so the couple decided on an elegant decor of emerald green with gold accents. Instead of staging a first look, the couple met at the altar, where the couple’s close friend, Henry Valentine Genie, officiated the ceremony; Cam walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Neon Moon” by Brooks and Dunn, performed by the couple’s friends Ben on cello and Lauren Johnson on violin. Lauren and Ben’s instrumental version of Lauren Alaina’s song “I Just Wanna Know That You Love Me” accompanied the bridal party procession, followed by an emotional violin version of Lauren Alaina’s song “Breaking Up with Single” as the bride walked down the aisle.
After the touching ceremony, the guests, some of whom are notable names in country music, were welcomed to the bash at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, where the newlyweds performed their first dance to “Feet off the Ground” by Brent Cobb, featuring Jade Bird. The guests were treated to delectable food stations highlighting Greek, Mexican, American, and Asian foods. The wedding cake was black with gold accents with miniature treats of the couple’s dogs. The doggies played a special role in participating in the ceremony. After the ceremony, the couple exited a blue Bronco.

The Retreat
On their first day as man and wife, Lauren and Cam hosted an intimate brunch at Brown’s Diner – their first date spot. It is a small diner in Nashville and served as a perfect send-off on their honeymoon. The couple enjoyed a magical two weeks at the Four Seasons Maui, Hawaii.
