The Proposal

M.C. and Gregory were living in Tahiti at the time of their engagement. The actors’ strike had put everything on hold, so they decided to move somewhere that felt like a dream—trading the noise of L.A. for the stillness of the ocean. One afternoon, while swimming in open water, they found themselves face-to-face with a humpback whale. The whale stared right into their eyes, and in that moment, everything felt still and sacred. When M.C. and Gregory surfaced, they locked eyes, and both said, almost at the same time: “Let’s get married here.” No ring. No big gesture. Just love, saltwater, and a shared knowing that Tahiti had captured their hearts.

In Preparation

When M.C. and Gregory first visited the islands of Tahiti in 2023, they fell in love with the culture, the people, and the deep spiritual beauty of the place. That’s when the couple decided—they didn’t just want to get married in Tahiti, but wanted to have a traditional Tahitian wedding. With friends and family arriving from far and wide, they didn’t want it to be just one day—instead planned a full weeklong celebration: swimming with humpback whales, sharks, and stingrays; making flower crowns in local workshops; and enjoying homemade sorbet on the beach. M.C. and Gregory made the wedding invitations themselves—each one featured a QR code carved into a Tahitian mother-of-pearl shell and was packaged inside a custom wooden box. Guests arrived to find custom welcome bags embroidered with their names, sponsored by Vacation, The Plug Drink, LulleVibes, Personalised Vacation, and Hanalei Company. The entire wedding took place on a stunning private island off Mo’orea called Motu Tiahura, only accessible by boat.

The Big Day

The morning of the wedding began perfectly. M.C. woke up and went for a swim in the ocean with her sisters and nieces. Gregory made a cinematic entrance—riding up on a jet ski in a black tuxedo by Andy Fine of Sartoro, giving full James Bond energy. Meanwhile, M.C. arrived in an outrigger canoe, wearing a custom gown by Fabio Toñanez of Ibraina Atelier, followed later in the day by multiple outfit changes, including a custom bridal bikini by Demi Raquel Thomas of La Chenille Bridal. Altogether, M.C. and Gregory had seven custom outfit changes throughout the day.

Their ceremony embraced sacred Tahitian traditions: a handfasting with sacred Auti leaves, being wrapped together in a ceremonial tifaifai quilt, and being gifted our Tahitian name, Moanahau, meaning “Ocean Peace.” Instead of exchanging rings, M.C. and Gregory chose to receive traditional Tahitian tattoos—a permanent and meaningful symbol of their union. Five of their guests even joined them in getting their own tattoos during the celebration. Dinner was served at tables placed directly in the ocean, with stingrays and sharks swimming around guests’ feet. Many even hand-fed them from their seat. The plated meal was whole lobster and fresh tuna tartare. After the ceremony, guests changed into swimsuits and danced barefoot on the sand. Then came the fire—an epic hour-long performance by Polynesian dancers and fire performers that lit up the night sky and left everyone speechless. Instead of a traditional guestbook, M.C. and Gregory created a “bucket list” display where guests wrote down adventures for the newlyweds to complete together—some sweet, some wild, and all unforgettable.

The Retreat

Just days after the wedding, the M.C. and Gregory kicked off married life with the most epic adventure: skydiving over the island where they said “I do.” Seeing the crystal-blue reef and lush green below from 10,000 feet in the air was a surreal experience. Right after landing, they jetted off to The Brando, Marlon Brando’s private island resort, for a week of total luxury and connection.
