The Proposal
Trevor proposed to Marisa on July 17, 2020, at Clemson Memorial Stadium. Trevor, remembering when he and Marissa took their high school senior pictures together, planned a special photoshoot for them to take their college senior pictures. There was no better place to do it than at the stadium: Trevor’s choice to play football for Clemson four years ago marked the beginning of a pivotal chapter of their love story. During their college years at Clemson, Marissa and Trevor’s relationship blossomed and their commitment to each other deepened. Connected to strong community and friendships, the two eventually called Clemson home. When Trevor got down on one knee in the stadium where he had played for the past four years, both he and Marissa knew that they were entering another new chapter, one of the most exciting times of their lives.
In Preparation
Marissa had so much fun planning! She had the best time working closely with her amazing wedding planners, Kelly and Allison, to plan all the little details of their ceremony and reception. Trevor was very hands-on throughout the process and helped every step of the way. Relying on each other and their team of professionals, Marissa and Trevor worked hard to incorporate their personality into the planning process and make it “their wedding.” So much did she enjoy the planning that Marissa is hoping to join the ranks of event planning to help other people bring the visions they have for their own celebrations to life.
The Big Day
Marissa loved every moment of her wedding day. It was all magical, from the quiet moments getting ready with her bridesmaids to the moment she said “I do.” A night of food, drink, laughter, and celebration with loved ones followed at their reception, during which Marissa’s two best friends lifted her up to crowd surf over the dance floor! Marissa and Trevor’s favorite part of the day was their secretly planned last dance to “Anyone” by Justin Bieber. While all their guests lined up for the send off, Marissa and Trevor cherished this intimate moment. Their wedding was filled with love, hope, family, friends, and memories to last a lifetime.
The Retreat
After the wedding, Marissa and Trevor stayed at Montage Palmetto Bluff for a couple of days to unwind. They loved being able to rest and enjoy their venue instead of hurrying to pack up and leave after such an incredible weekend. Afterwards, they flew to California for a bit of a “mini-moon” and continued their slow-paced, relaxing honeymoon with delicious wine in Napa at ONEHOPE Winery, where Marissa noted that “the grounds are beautiful, but more importantly, donates to important causes all around the world.”
