The Proposal
The proposal was June 22nd of 2024 – Meredith and Buck had just purchased a boat that summer and were taking it out for a Saturday on the sandbar meeting with friends. The couple had been shopping and Meredith knew the engagement was coming but just wasn’t sure when. That week, Buck had already been to Meredith’s parents’ home to ask them if he could marry their daughter. After floating in the sun all day, Buck queued up their song and, to Meredith’s surprise, he got down on one knee in front of all of their friends and asked Meredith to marry him. Meredith had no idea it was happening that day, but Buck said he couldn’t wait any longer. That night the newly engaged couple celebrated with dinner with family, reveling in excitement. Meredith found out later that Buck had the ring in his swim shorts pocket all day without the box because “that’s what insurance is for.”
In Preparation
The entire wedding planning process was full of fun for the couple. Meredith was very hands on with every aspect of their wedding day. Thankfully, she knew she was wearing her mother’s dress and veil so that was easily the first thing they checked off the list. From hand stamping every wax seal on their invitations with the Jordan family crest, to scouring different vendors for the perfect linens, Meredith wanted to make sure she had everything just right. The table top selections with her mother was Meredith’s favorite day. When they went and picked out the linens and the China (which turned out to be three separate patterns), she knew she wanted rich jewel tones and velvet – having never shied away from color before. The huge Christmas trees, the candle light, and the bright colors had the room glowing. One of Meredith’s favorite details was hiring a beautiful Santa to come and surprise all of their guests with dance floor props once the band opened up and the party started. He was such a hit and was having such a great time, that he ended up staying for the duration of the party.

The Big Day
Meredith and Bucks’ wedding day was a vintage Ralph Lauren inspired, maximalist, color filled Christmas beauty. Heirloom family decor with silver & brass candlesticks, goblets and additional serving pieces, paired with sentimental touches (dried tobacco leaf arrangements and father-of-the-bride’s favorite hat) honoring the bride’s late father adorned the day and brought intentional design details to showcase the couple’s story. The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown (before changing into her reception dress) for a traditional take on her attire, while paying tribute to her mother’s classic style and grace that as well embodied Meredith on her wedding day.
The ceremony was held outside at Rosehill’s Manor House, with a live quartet, before guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside the historical home. The couple and guests were able to roam around socializing and exploring the history of the home, while sipping cocktails and enjoying server passed appetizers to include a chilled oyster display.
The reception hall was filled with color and textural detail in the velvet linens, pheasant dinnerware (which was mimicked to the stage front), all red florals, abundant mood lighting, and classic Christmas decor. A plated coursed meal, vintage inspired tiered cake, and continuous cocktails left the guests feeling taken care of. The party was lively with the band, and a surprise visit from Santa Claus guaranteed no one left the dance floor. Even Santa hats found themselves hanging from the chandeliers!

The Retreat
When wedding planning, the original venue and date fell through and the couple ended up getting married the weekend of Thanksgiving. Due to this, they opted to wait a couple of weeks before taking their honeymoon in December. The couple decided on Aruba – a place they had visited once before with their families. The newlyweds enjoyed renting UTVs to drive all over the island and down the coast, cave jumping, and simply laying on the beautiful beaches and eating lots of delicious food. It was rewarding for the couple to relax and remember their day, while getting the sneak peak photos and celebrate officially being married.
