The Proposal
Paula Chavers and Ayson Lamb were introduced through mutual friends at a little dive bar in their hometown Jonesboro, Arkansas. As fate would have it, they ran into each other again the following night, and the coincidences continued. After becoming friends, they found out they had so much in common, including living in the same dorm during their freshman year of college at the University of Arkansas. Ayson eventually asked Paula to be his girlfriend after three months of formally dating, and then they were engaged the following spring.
In Preparation
After getting engaged and starting the wedding planning process, Paula knew she wanted to have a bright, whimsical spring wedding the following year. Rick Steiner with Steiner Event Group and florist Kelly Warden with A Perfect Bloom worked together to create a soft pastel design to bring Paula’s vision to life. The couple knew they wanted a traditional sit-down dinner filled with comfort food at their reception to reflect the couple’s southern roots. The couple’s advice for other engaged couples is to be sure and include a QR code on the invitations’ RSVP cards linking your wedding website for acquiring a swift and efficient guest count. They also recommend sourcing locally regarding signage to save on budget.
The Big Day
Paula and Ayson wed at Legacy Acres in Conway, Arkansas, amongst the freshly bloomed spring trees of the venue’s expansive grounds. The couple said their vows underneath the ornate crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings of the buildings. Following the ceremony, Vibrant Occasions Catering topped off the affair with delicious and desirable elevated comfort food such as paneed chicken breast with a beurre blanc sauce and bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. Guests also enjoyed side dishes of Yukon Gold twice-baked potato casserole, macaroni and cheese with jalapeno cheese sauce, green bean Provencal tossed with blistered grape tomatoes, garden salad and freshly-baked rolls alongside refreshing iced tea, ensuring the entire day was filled with southern goodness and sweetness.
The Retreat
Paula and Ayson chose to go to Mexico for their honeymoon and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, where they opted for the adults-only package. They spent the week relaxing by the pool, sipping margaritas, and getting pampered at the spa. They concluded their first vacation as husband and wife with a sunset catamaran tour which was one of their favorite moments of the trip! The newlyweds brought along a Fujifilm Instax that they received as a wedding gift to capture the fun.
