The Proposal
Sida proposed on the first day of their trip to Punta Cana, and although he tried to keep it a surprise, the hints throughout the day gave everything away in the sweetest way. Sida told Sarah they had dinner reservations at the resort, and as they walked toward the “restaurant,” he led her instead to the lobby, where a woman greeted the couple and began escorting them to “dinner.” A few things had already made Sarah suspicious — asking which dress she should wear and Sida immediately steering her toward the best one, Sida putting on a button-down even though he’s typically very casual, and hotel staff showing up early with champagne that he quickly shooed away. When they arrived, Sida was sent away for a moment, and that’s when the surprise became undeniable. As soon as the woman said it was time, Sarah turned the corner and saw a path of rose petals stretching across the beach, leading to a private dinner setup framed by a heart of roses and glowing lanterns — and Sida waiting at the end. Sarah and Sida both immediately started crying. Sida gave a heartfelt speech, ending with “you’re my best friend,” before getting down on one knee and asking Sarah to marry him. It was emotional, romantic, and absolutely unforgettable.
In Preparation
Sarah and Sida wanted their wedding to feel timeless, heartfelt, and genuinely reflective of who they are as a couple. Every decision was made with intention—from the soft, romantic color palette to the personal details woven throughout the day. Rather than getting caught up in perfection, the couple focused on the feeling they wanted to create: warmth, ease, and joy. They chose elements that felt like “them,” prioritized meaningful moments with family, and centered the entire experience on love. Preparation became its own special season, filled with small choices that gradually built into a day that felt beautifully, authentically theirs.
The Big Day
The wedding day was everything the couple dreamed it would be—emotionally rich, joy-filled, and full of moments that felt both grounded and magical. From getting ready surrounded by people who love them to the moment they saw each other during the first look, the entire day carried a softness and a sense of celebration. Their families created an atmosphere of warmth and connection, and the ceremony itself felt deeply intimate. The reception was filled with laughter, incredible food, dancing, and the presence of all the people who had been part of their journey. It was one of those rare days where time slows just enough to let you savor every second. It truly felt like the perfect beginning to their marriage.
Sarah and Sida celebrated a joining of cultures starting the day with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony followed by the western traditional wedding. They did a first look followed by a private reading of personal love letters. They had small personal touches everywhere from the ceremony programs the Bride’s mother created to the special ladies champagne toast up in the treehouse.
The Retreat
For their honeymoon, the newlyweds traveled to Thailand, splitting their time between Phuket and Chiang Mai for the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. In Phuket, they enjoyed the beaches, slow mornings, and peaceful moments unwinding after the excitement of the wedding. In Chiang Mai, they explored temples, markets, and the vibrant culture, taking in experiences they will remember forever. It was the ideal way to begin their married life—part restorative, part exploratory, and entirely unforgettable.
