The Proposal

Savannah and Zach are a classic Tinder success story. After two days of chatting, Zach asked Savannah out on a date. Anticipating a potentially awkward evening, Savannah suggested a Mexican restaurant near her home in Nashville. To her surprise, the date turned out to be a delightful experience.

Four years later, Savannah had a strong feeling that Zach was about to propose. One evening, despite not being much of a planner, Zach took her to Natchez Trace for a romantic dinner and stargazing. While Savannah expected a proposal during dinner, it didn’t happen. After their meal, the couple went for a long drive, stopping at an outlook that was blocked by wire fencing, and the stars were hidden by clouds. Savannah then suggested another outlook, but after another lengthy drive, they discovered it was crowded. As it was getting late, they decided to head home.

Savannah sensed that Zach wanted the perfect setting for a proposal, and it seemed that night might not be the one. When she got home and prepared for bed, Zach asked her to come outside. Though Savannah didn’t expect a proposal underneath the carport, she was pleasantly surprised to find that he had strung up garden lights and arranged her potted plants in a circle. In the center of what Zach called the “star-lit garden,” Savannah happily said yes to the easiest question she had ever been asked.

In Preparation

Event planner Kat from Joyful Events collaborated closely with the couple to ensure a smooth planning and coordination process. However, Savanna was a very hands-on bride! She took on a significant portion of the floral arrangements, working with the talented team at Nashville Flower Market to design DIY centerpieces and entrusting them with her bouquet design. Additionally, Savanna created custom floral appliqué denim shirts for her bridal party as a heartfelt Thank You for all their support throughout the planning and wedding day.

The design team loved collaborating with Savanna leading up to the wedding, as she had a clear vision of what she wanted and was open to any creative ideas the team suggested! The designer and the bride share a love for the show Bridgerton, and more than once, their conversation drifted into discussions about the next season’s rumors rather than wedding-specific topics.

The Big Day

The wedding day was exactly as imagined—an eclectic, chic, colorful take on spring with vintage blue glassware, yellow gold candlesticks, and thrifted teacups holding votive candles. It was a picture-perfect spring day, with ample sunshine across the grounds at Firefly Lane.

The wedding gown gave a nod to the bride’s Bridgerton-loving style, with a corset-style boning covered in a large, organic floral lace. The tulle skirt brought movement back into the look to keep the romance within the ensemble. Savanna and Zach were not only detail-oriented but also very people-oriented. They presented each of their mothers with a rose during the beginning of their ceremony, invited the father of the bride to sing their first dance song, had their dear friend Morgan officiate their ceremony, and ensured no guest left hungry with a fabulous olive bar during cocktail hour and delicious nacho bar as a late-night snack.

The icing on the cake, pun intended, was one of the bride’s favorite parts—the custom floral embellished cupcakes by local baker Blooming Kupcakes.

The Retreat

The couple postponed their honeymoon to ensure they would be well-rested for their adventures—and what an adventure it was! They traveled the globe and spent a significant portion of their honeymoon at Sun Siyam Ira Fushi in the Maldives. In addition to their time in the Maldives, they also explored neighboring cities, including Istanbul and Singapore. The couple highly praised their stay in the Maldives and enthusiastically recommended it to future couples looking for a resort in the area.
