The Proposal
Travis and I were in Charleston, South Carolina for our anniversary, and I had no idea he was about to propose. We were sitting on the rooftop terrace of our hotel, The Ansonborough Inn, watching the sunset, he turned to me, and listed all the reasons he loved me. He began to cry and started to get down on one knee. I did not even give him the chance to ask before I started crying. I said, “YES!”
In Preparation
We got engaged in July of 2015, but we didn’t get married until October of 2017. My Mom and I really only started planning the wedding a year before. Thankfully, I only visited a few venues before realizing Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens was ‘The One’. As soon as we secured the venue, everything else was smooth sailing. Natalie, from Boone Hall, and Natalia and Bart with Tailor and Table really helped bring the entire wedding together.
The Big Day
My wedding day was a whirlwind of friends and family, and dancing the night away. I am so blessed to have been surrounded by such an incredible group of people, and they truly made my day spectacular. Everything was flawless, from my bridesmaids dresses, the groomsmen’s suits, the catering, décor, flowers, everything. It was a fairytale, and I was the princess.
The Retreat
Travis and I went to Hacienda Beach Club and Residences for our honeymoon. Although we got married in October, we waited until January to celebrate. We went off road biking on the beach, went to a tequila tasting, took a cooking class, visited a glass blowing seminar, and so much more.
