While at the resort, prior to walking down the aisle, we had the opportunity to scope out which hole we would say, “I do” on with our wedding planner, photographer and videographer. We all came to the conclusion that the fourteenth hole was our favorite, which was fate for me because that is my family’s favorite number! The fourteenth hole of the course was at the end of the cliff looking out to the entire ocean from basically all sides, it allowed for the most magnificent pictures! [We opted for a barefoot dress code to enhance the seascape.]
The Big Day
On the big day, all family and friends arrived to the fourteenth hole via a golf cart parade. Following the ceremony, our entrance into the cocktail hour was surprising and loud, as Matt and I were hidden in the middle of the Junkanoo Band. The most special element for me was having our reception three feet away from the ocean, hearing the waves crash in and feeling the Bahamian breeze all night long.
The Retreat
We chose Sandals Emerald Bay as the resort for our destination wedding, their golf course was the perfect venue and the hotel itself could not have been any more perfect. Our friends and family loved the property, the food (and bottomless drinks), the warmth of the people, just as much as we loved it for the picture-perfect celebrations we had.
