Exclusive Look At Tara Lipinskis Dream Wedding Part 2 The Planning Bride

Tara and Todd had a year and a half to prepare and plan. “I hired Mindy Weiss from Los Angeles and started the planning for my wedding in South Carolina.” Tara shared.  After the Nagano Olympics, Tara bought land and built her first home on Kiawah Island. She has been madly in love with Charleston and Kiawah ever since. “I may be from Jersey but I am a Low-country girl at heart” Tara said.

For the venue itself, the couple chose Middleton Place.  Tara shared, “It was the perfect match with the old oaks, the Ashley River, a brick house with sheep and peacocks roaming, gorgeous gardens and southern accents made for a breathtaking backdrop.” As far as the planning itself, Tara said, “It wasn’t easy planning a wedding from afar, but I spent quite a bit of time in South Carolina as I wanted to use mostly local vendors. I love flowers and knew that would be a focal point of the decor for me. I hit the jackpot with Jackson Durham.”

The theme of Tara and Todd’s big day was Southern Romantic, which is the aesthetic Tara loves most in life. “We had so much fun adding all the southern touches to our wedding; from the menu, to our signature drinks and decor. I was involved in every decision and aspect of planning…probably my type ‘A’ personality came out in full force. It was hard work but I loved every minute. It turned out exactly how I envisioned and I’m so lucky I found vendors who could bring my dream wedding to life.”
