Perched high above Las Vegas, the setting immediately reveals itself through its height and sweeping skyline. Even for those familiar with Ghostbar, something is striking about being reminded that the space hovers above the city, with lights stretching endlessly in every direction. Rather than compete with that view, the design approach is rooted in restraint—allowing the skyline to remain the focal point while everything within the space supports and elevates it.
Ghostbar carries an inherent coolness: sleek, slightly edgy, and self-assured. The intention was not to soften that identity, but to work within it—layering in a sense of romance that feels aligned with the venue’s energy. Here, romance is reimagined as something moodier and more architectural, moving away from traditional softness toward a feeling that is confident, intimate, and intentional—like the quiet shift into an after-hours moment when the atmosphere becomes more personal and immersive.
The design language centers on clean lines, strong materials, and rich, tactile textures. Velvet, stone, glass, and metal were chosen for their ability to catch and reflect the surrounding city lights without trying to replicate them. The palette remains grounded in greys, charcoal, espresso, and warm neutrals, ensuring that nothing distracts from the skyline beyond the windows. Each element is edited and purposeful, contributing to a composition that feels balanced and deliberate.
The overall vision evokes the sensibility of a fashion editorial set high above the city—marked by straight-on compositions, thoughtful negative space, and sculptural moments that feel modern yet emotionally resonant. The result is a space that feels both cool and romantic, grounded yet elevated, and fully in harmony with the distinctive energy of Ghostbar and the skyline that defines it.

The photographers are provided the same venues, decorated by top local wedding planners, and are graded based on their unique vision and imagery of the venue and its design details.
The Styled Challenge is a local wedding design and photography competition showcasing talented wedding professionals’ work. Each design team is tasked with creating an exceptional wedding ceremony, reception setting, and ‘wild card’ space within popular venues nationwide. The editors at Southern Bride vote on the winners for each of the design awards. These designs are featured in Southern Bride Magazine, SouthernBride.com, and Southern Bride’s social media outlets.
