After a long battle with breast cancer, Sandy Jane Oliveira Leal and Marcelo Ferreira de Oliveira said their vows on April 10, 2018, in Lake Como, Italy. They knew eloping would be the right choice because it would lend them a moment of peace and joy after many years of uncertainty. The intimate wedding took place right before the bride’s last operation. Marcelo fell in love all over again when he saw Sandy in a handmade, Italian mermaid gown of satin and lace rebrodé. Sandy was equally impressed by Marcelo’s impeccably tailored blue suit.
Sigillo Events beautifully executed the couple’s vision for an elegant and private ceremony. “I do’s” were exchanged outside Grand Hotel Tremezzo’s Villa Sola Cabiati. Pre-dating World War I, the French inspired villa boasts golden frieze adorned walls, baroque details on the facade, and glorious fresco paintings while the Italian arabesque gardens are filled with mythological statues. The venue’s historic beauty has been preserved for over three centuries and was a dream come true for Sandy and Marcelo’s big day.
The reception table was decorated with gold accents and florals, candles and linens in various shades of pink. To celebrate, Sandy and Marcelo enjoyed dancing and cake. For their very first adventure as husband and wife, they went for a leisurely, picturesque boat ride on Lake Como.
