Shelby and Connor were married on July 31, 2021 at The Round Barn Stable, an architectural and historic landmark in Lexington, Kentucky – A fitting venue for the University of Kentucky alumni who met at school and love horses and the outdoors. Shelby and Connor created a romantic and timeless ambiance for the ceremony and reception, which featured unique details including wax-sealed tea cards featuring the O’Malley family crest, a custom wine wall. and of course penny eucalyptus and ivory roses sprinkled throughout.
The couple focused on a classic color palette consisting of black, white, gold, and taupe to further elevate the relaxed but elegant aesthetic. One of Shelby’s favorite planning moments was designing her Allure gown and veil with the guidance of Virginia based bridal shop Ava Laurenne Bride. Shelby was a vision in her custom dress and witnessing Connor’s face light up as she walked down the aisle was an unforgettable moment they will cherish forever. And though rain tried to fall during the day, the sun brilliantly shined as they began to exchange vows.
HIS AND HERS COCKTAILS?
Yes, we did have his and hers cocktails! Shelby picked Aperol Spritz for a summer wedding and Connor’s was a Horse Neck cocktail because we of course had to have some bourbon at a Kentucky wedding.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG?
Our first dance song was “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne.
CAKE FLAVOR?
We chose a classic buttercream cake and it was so delicious! Surprisingly we had enough for every guest and we did not have any leftovers!
HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR HONEYMOON?
We went to the Maldives and it was a once in a lifetime experience! We loved being able to relax every day with the most amazing views and exotic foods but the highlight would have to be snorkeling every day. The water was so clear and saw so much sea life – we even tried scuba diving for the first time.
WEDDING HASH TAG?
My maiden name is Jolly and we wanted to try to incorporate both of our names so we came up with #JollyToBeOmalley which we also added on our personalized koozies.
WHO IS THE BETTE. R COOK?
Before the wedding the answer would probably be Connor but now Shelby for sure
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
So many moments it is hard to pick but our top 3 would have to be our first look, the ceremony walking down the aisle and our first dance. Felt like we were the only ones in the room every time!
WHO SHED MORE TEARS AT FIRST REVEAL?
Connor.
WHAT DOES A LAZY SUNDAY MORNING LOOK LIKE FOR YOU TWO?
We got a waffle maker as a wedding gift and we love making a big breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning with coffee, waffles and smoothies!
